This game, also known as B-movie, is a game that had a concept that I loved, being a big sci-fi fan, however, the game is actually extremely difficult where you don't have enough health and such to get through, but, maybe I need to have purchased the "correct" upgrades, but I doubt that's an issue, but it's given me enough pause to atleast want to try one more time!
The story is that you play as one of many pilots flying a space ship (each one being different with strengths and weaknesses) to combat the aliens after an attempted first contact ends up with them revealing their true colours and conducting a mass invasion of Earth!
To unlock new weapons and ships, you need to collect items that the ships occasionally drop and scientists who are wondering around the map. Sadly, without a replayable option you can't grind for these items and some abilities are worth so much I doubt you will be able to get enough before either mission or even the "right" upgrades, if my suspicions are correct about abilities I've not chosen being a potential salvation and probably what you NEED to progress.
