Solid dlc, but it was overpriced.

fuck the story and just focus on the god tier combat please.

The actual pinnacle of the series.

Brief but satisfying, it makes up for one of my disappointments with the base game of LJ, with a more enjoyable cast of characters which feel much more engaging.

It still has the wonderful mechanics of LJ and the new remixed styles from Yakuza 0 feel unique, tho a bit lacking in some of the basics you'd expect from just upgrading your combat style. It doesn't affect the actual campaign that much but Yagami feels much more complete to play with.

The side-content being locked to just collectibles is dissapointing but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the funniest crap in the world to have Kaito be turned into some Tarzan man who sniffs out stuff.

Despite being a short DLC story of one of my favourite characters, the story doesn't really pick-up towards the end. The final boss+ending alone on this DLC story is a 10 however the gameplay basically being a worse version of Kiriyu from Yakuza and the flawed story pacing brings it down to an 8.

I really appreciate that Legend is unlocked from the get go (at least if you beat the main game I guess?).

I really loved the story, I hope they give Kaito the spotlight again sometime. Or hell, make Jun get his chance in a few years or something. Kid's cool, he can do it.

My only issues with this DLC are mostly due to combat and pricing. I feel like $30 (without sale, I got it for $17 which is its current historical low on PC) is a tad steep when considering that there's very little to do besides the story. I knew that going in, though, but still... feels a tad steep when compared to the price:content ratio of the main game, I guess?

My other gripe is the combat. Mind you, the combat's still fun as fuck to me but...

Kaito getting Kiryu's Brawler and Beast styles is kinda uninteresting, even if there are enough changes to make them feel distinct enough to me. It's especially fun when you land Bruiser's counter and get the speed boost, then use EX Boost! Plus, they play so differently from Yagami that it's nice. I just wish they had given Kaito a unique style (even if it's a singular style) or tweaked the styles more.

Which, on that note, Kaito's lack of juggle options makes playing as him feel less fun than Yagami. Most of his launchers are hard to land, as enemies will either block them or dodge them with ease. Regular mooks get hit easily by them, but most likely die before you get to have your juggling fun. Bruiser feels fun as fuck to brutalize enemies with once you DO get a juggle going, though, so there's that! I just wish Kaito had more/better launchers...

Bosses, though, are honestly pretty peak! No complaints there, I greatly enjoyed every fight. Even the optional challenge bosses which are (mostly) reusing certain movesets from the base game, they were a pretty fun challenge on Legend.

The long battles were great too, giving Kaito actual hordes of morons to wreck.

Overall, I guess I really loved this DLC but think it should've been cheaper or had some side-content besides collectible hunting. Took me about 9 hours to beat having basically 100%'d it, though, and I enjoyed it all the way so I can't complain.

While Kaito Files is a lot shorter than the main game and doesn't have any of the amazing side content, I can't help but love this DLC just a bit more than the actual game. Having Kaito as our protagonist and exploring his character in only a few chapters was a unique choice to make from RGG studio, but I'm so glad they did it.
The short story allows for the small cast to get plenty of focus they need, especially two of my new favorite characters, Jun and Mikiko. Both add a unique flavor to the series that feel like a perfect fit for Kaito. He sees himself in Jun, a kid who wants to do the best he can to protect those he loves and he has a great relationship with Mikiko, who has an amazing character arc of her own.
The antagonist cast is nothing to write home about, but they all fulfill their roles and the two most prominent ones have some really cool moments here and there and they serve to make Kaito, Jun and Mikiko even better than they would've been without.
Similar to Gaiden's protagonist, I couldn't be happier with how Kaito was handled in this game. Solidified as one of my favorite video game characters.

The only thing I can remember from this DLC was Kenmochi's buldge during that fight QTE and Kaito's red haired pronoun son. WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!

They took a character I really liked from the base game and made him into one of my favorite MCs. I'm not sure what my expectations were for this DLC but I can tell you that I definitely loved it. Kaito handles different from Yagami in almost every way and getting to play as him was awesome. The final two fights in this are up there with some of my favorite RGG fights along with having great OSTs.

All-in-all,
The Kaito Files is an excellent expansion that gives some needed spotlight and it's more than worth your time.

Like the basegame. Like the idea of making space for other side character in form of DLC, wish RGG would do more of these, since i think there are other character needing more fleshing out like Kaito did here. Kaito already had a good character but the DLC made me like him more. Im now actually hyped to see him hopefully in the next Judgment game.

I LOVE THAT BOY😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Combate e história foda, pena que é bem linear mas não deixa de ser muito bom.

(130 reais por isso sega tá maluco????)

I love this himbo so much lmao. The shorter lenght lends to some good ass pacing, storytelling remains top notch with the familiar twists and turns, and Kaito's combat is fun, albeit not as flexible as Yagami.

absolute powerhouse of a dlc sad if there was a new game plus feature but it's passable if Judgment 3 comes out where Kaito becomes a playable character throughout the main story.

A DLC que supre um pouco da necessidade de ser pai em algum momento

As I said in my Lost Judgment review, I feel like Kaito was pretty much wasted in that game, and so when I saw that he had his own DLC story I rushed to buy it, and thankfully it didn't disappoint. The Kaito Files, while short and a tad predictable, has a really interesting story that delves into our favorite gorilla's past and private life, which is really welcomed. Characters like Mikiko and specially Jun are incredibly fun and charming, and I hope we see more of them in the next entries. As for the gameplay, this DLC offers us two different fighting styles: bruiser, which is basically a brawler style but with the ability to repel attacks if you time yours correctly, and tank, which is pretty much beast from Yakuza 0 and is incredibly broken. There's not much else to say about The Kaito Files, it's a solid DLC that's necessary to play if you're a fan of Kaito.

The overall package is somewhat okay but stuff like the constant overly long investigation sections and info dumps make this DLC a mess. The gameplay is copied straight from LAD0's beast and brawler styles with some small changes. Since this is a 7 hour long DLC a lot of things are explained at the last minute and the villain is probably the worst one RGG Studio has ever made. It had a lot of potential since I love Kaito and others from this DLC like Jun and Mikiko but unfortunately it misses the mark on so many levels. All this makes me think about is how Gaiden could've been a DLC like this if they cut the shitty filler content.

Great DLC with some surprisingly great writing. Lost Judgment overall is among the best RGG has created.

rgg finally makes good dlc not clickbait

Why does everyone want to fuck Mikiko

Esse DLC e totalmente okay, o combate e bem simples (nada nível majima k2) além de ter uma história bem previsível.
Não tem uma lá trilha sonora mas nao e nada ruim, só é simples

It was fun and I liked the story just wish there were more combat sections

A bite sized story, approximately 5-6 hours. I think this format is much more interesting than the long sprawling and meandering stories of the mainline games.

Masaharu Kaito es el hombre definitivo.

twirls my hair hehehe…hiiiii Kaito~
