All this game’s missing is a versus mode.

It gets very much overshadowed by 8.

Nada mal.

As a weirdo who solely plays mario kart games single player, this game works solidly for that experience. Track design is almost all super fun and the driving handles well. Unfortunately, pretty much every feature it added was brought to 8 but that's mainly just because gliding and underwater driving are both great and deserved to stay. It just means this one doesn't have too much to its name anymore.

Not sure if I can ever forgive this game for removing the jack off bridge from maple treeway

This game never really clicked with me as a kid in the same way Mario Kart Wii and 8 did, and I think it just comes down to the game lacking co-op multiplayer (obviously) and not really having the charm of it's predecessor.

Top 1: Mario kart 8
Top 2: Mario Kart DS
Top 3: Maro Kart 7

It Mario Kart, its fun.

The wuhu island glitch is someting else.

It's a downgrade from Mario Kart DS (2005) with less features, decent maps, and lamer karts. Still it gets the job done, but it's nothing legendary. For some reason, my younger cousins were addicted to watching me play this at my Grandmother's house. They never really had access to games, so that's probably why. In my eyes though it was like "Why do you care so much about the inferior mario kart game?" Still it's enjoyable.

Mario Kart 7 is like if Mario Kart Wii and DS had a super weird child with mechanics that it's older brother would steal and actually make their parents proud with.

Didn't know what the jack off bridge was
Now I do

Milktoast Kart 7.

It's far from bad but it just lacks any and all personality. It's the only one in the series that I feel lacks it's own identity. But hey it controls great the new tracks are pretty good and it has the best retro course selection before MK8 Deluxe so like, I feel a bit bad bitching about it.

This is the game that introduced customizing your kart and I loved it! Sadly the roster took a hit from Mario Kart Wii. I enjoyed what I could with this game but I don't find myself going back to it as much. Solid overall.

now THIS was a good time! the new glider, underwater sections, and customizations adds alot of new variates to the stages and the stages themselves are pretty fun! would recommend not getting blue shelled

I don't think MK7 deserves its reputation of being a "yeah, that happened" game in the series. I feel that MK8 owes most of its identity to this game. The controls in 8 are extremely similar to 7's, making it really easy to jump from one game to the other. Gliders and underwater driving are huge additions to the series that allow tracks to have more memorable and varied layouts; 1 lap tracks are also a great concept for the same reason. Kart customization is another great addition that I feel people take for granted. MK7 is an incredibly important game to the series, and is very fun to boot, as much as people seem to think that it's just whatever.

I actually think this is the best handheld Mario Kart game. DS easily has this game beat in terms of single-player content and... having a VS mode (I can't believe 7 excluded it), but 7 has a much better track lineup, both new and retro, and unlike DS, the controls are not horrendous. Sorry DS lol
