I love this game, I’m just bored of it from there not being another Mario kart in the last century.
i hate a game like this because its so boring to call this the best mario kart but it is though
extremely fun with friends. greatest maps in every racing game and fantastic soundtrack.
I bought the new character/map pack. it's a lot of fun and certainly worth the money!
Hot take review:
I like Mario Kart 8, but I do not love it. This game is just missing something, an allure to keep me playing. It has great controls and tons of customization. The roster is decent. It's beautiful to look at and listen to. So what is it missing?
I think the courses aren't as fun this time: they either feel too expansive with not a lot going on, or they're really tight with hard turns. This is not applicable to every course mind you, but I feel like they don't stand out as much anymore. This game sorta just blends stuff together and everything can get kinda samey.
Battle Mode was so bad on Wii U they had to retool it into something better. But even still I don't find it that fun. Maybe just the courses again.
I think my biggest issue, and this isn't a fault of the game, is that they continued to bloat it with DLC for over 5 years when they could have just made another game. They're probably just waiting for the next system to do that though. But it's gonna make the next Mario kart feel small in comparison.

Everyone knows how this is a great gamemso here's my top 10 favorite MK tracks:
Number 10: DK SUMMIT. One of the best snow tracks, with a sense of adrenaline umparalleled.
Number 9: Waluigi Stadium. The best stadium stage and honestly too overshadowed by the other waluigi stage. Always a fun time.
Number 8: Maka Wuhu. Nintendo legit made a setting for a kinda tech demo gimmicky game and it became one of the most beloved Nintendo locations. The final section is incredible.
Number 7: Daisy Cruiser. One of the best way to showcase how much of a weirdo Daisy is. A nice classic from Double dash that was made justice with MK8
Number 6: Sky Garden. ONLY THE GBA VERSION, I dunno whatever they did to blud in the Booster pass.
Number 5: Airship Fortress. My favorite DS track, such a shame it didn't came back, they even opened a shyguy inside the ship, good for them.
Number 4: Music Park. I would love to have a game entirely themed around racing through music. I also wanna adopt the giant music notes, they are friendos.
Number 3: Cloudtop cruise. Daughter of Sky garden and Airship fortress, I love the theme and the music
Number 2: MAPLE TREEWAY. Not only a fun course to drive, but one with and incredible atmosphere that rivals a wolrd from Galaxy. The sole reason why Wiggler is one of my favorite Mario characters.
Number 1: BIG BLUE. THE BEST MK TRACK EVER MADE WITH THE BEST MUSIC AND THE BEST SPEED AND FLOW, NINTENDO CAN YOU FREE F-ZERO PLS?????
Keep in mind almost all of these are part of the roster of Mario Kart 8 tracks, alongside many other. This alone can twstify how good and varied of a title MK8 is

I love Mario Kart 8, this is my favorite Mario Kart Game i've played so far, though i've only played 2, nonetheless, it's fire as fuck. The music and tracks are incredible. Fire as fuck

Undeniably Mario Kart at its best. I spent the whole summer in 2014 playing the original Wii U release. Only downside is Nintendo probably won't make a Mario Kart 9 for a very long time :^(
Probably the best MK in the series and the fact that this was from the Wii U makes me happy for some reason. Love this game

It's an acceptable mario kart with an insane amount of maps but I feel it's a bit too hardcore in terms of microtransactions even if it has a battlepass kind of deal.
Like, I'm scared every time I check what they're doing with this and I don't know if they're charging more money every time or if it's just an insane thing going on there.

It's the best Mario Kart game, no questions asked, but man, 96 courses and still no Toad's Factory. He will yet have his day. Just you wait.
Everyone knows how great this game is. Just started playing split-screen with my daughters recently. Will be played for years to come.
