I actually really like this one. There are definite downgrades, like the bros items replacing BP, and keeping track of 4 characters during battle gets a bit overwhelming. But the story's really good, the music's great as always, and I like a lot of the gameplay ideas outside of battle. I think it's better than Superstar Saga and I'm not sorry for that.

Apparently Mario & Luigi fans don't like this one as much, but it's the only one I played and I loved it personally. My fingers do be hurting from the mashing attacks though.

Partners in Time is a little forgettable coming after the first Mario & Luigi. I was also just never a fan of having the Mario and Luigi babies in as extra party members.

My first Mario RPG! I remember the days where I used to be afraid of the Shroobs as a kid, lol. After replaying this game, I noticed that the gameplay has quite aged. Still has the best story in the series.

didnt have time or partners (i got stuck 1 minute in!)

This is my favorite Mario and Luigi game. Fun, cool story and the finale was great. Very underrated game.

A pretty good Mario & Luigi game...it might be the weakest but it still holds a special place in my heart <3

A bit underrated, this is a slightly less polished entry in the series that's still full of charm, and has the darkest theme in the series which really impressed me as a kid. I don't think I ever reached the end myself.

Mi favorito de los M&L hasta el momento, y la vdd me gusta el reto de controlar a 4 personajes a la vez.

tia turbina >>>> princesa shroob.

EL PUTO MEJOR JUEGO NUNCA ME CANSARE DE REJUGARMELO 3429342394 VCECES

Genuinely my most favorite game I've played. The game is relatively simple and small, but it goes so hard.

This game has three "oh, you thought that was the final boss? Actually, THIS is the final boss" moments minutes apart from each other, and I kind of respect that audacity

Still a fun game, albeit not as good as Superstar Saga or Bowser's Inside Story. Has the excellent Mario and Luigi series humour - "Babies!"

I genuinely never got the hate for this game by the fanbase. The only problems really is I guess time travel as a story concept is kinda finicky. But the babies combat alongside the bros is so fun! And the final boss fights are legitimately some of the hardest in the Mario and Luigi games and it's awesome! Loved this game.

Never understood the hate. Is it as good as some of the others, no, but it is really fun.

This was my first M&L. Of course, I'm biased but this is still a great game in my eyes, better than others would say. Stuffwell is great (and better than Starlow), shroobs were fun, and the revamped bros attack system was pretty neat.

¡¡¿¿este juego salió antes que el mario bros "normal" de la ds??!! me quedo moñecona

I found out this is where that soundbyte of mario saying Babies comes from

Time travel is not alien to the world of videogames, let alone RPGs. Partners in Time though treats timeline shenanigans in a clever, weirdly somber and mature approach, considering the depressing and oppressive turn the game's story takes: it is now the Shrooms whom act as cruel and memorable villains in this story, having conquered the Toad Kingdom past.

Mario, Luigi, Mario Jr. & Luigi Jr. work well enough together as a team, but it's not as effective as in Super Star Saga: instead of using points to use combo attacks, they are now essentially items you can buy. Since money was never an issue in M&L games, you can see where the issue lies: the game's difficulty takes a nosedive each time a new combo item is introduced, making enemies' health bars just a matter of time, instead of strategic thinking. Platform sections and puzzles are fun enough, but despite having more bros, there's much less to do in terms of combo and exploration. I'll be blunt, the game takes a lot of steps forward in settings, story, characterization, with the four protagonists weirdly well characterized despite never speaking and Prof. E. Gadd stealing every scene he's featured in. The soundtracks also kind of rocks?

At the same time, it takes away a lot of ingenuity and platforming\puzzles from Super Star Saga, not taking real advantage of the dual screen if not for the occasional battle animation. It tries striking a balance between funny and emotional, which doesn't always land. To me it'll always be charming, but there's a lot of things to consider and wade through before getting to the "good stuff". Strong beginning, weak middle, padded ending but satisfactory experience don't make for a game I'd recommend easily.

In terms the average game journalist can understand, it's a A24-produced, genre-redefining, trope-subverting, 40 KB JPG atmospheric, dark and eerie, emotionally draining [...] game.

I first read about this game in Nintendo Power and tried it on my friend's DS. To date, still one of my favorite RPG battle systems. Controlling all four bros is just so satisfying and adds a later of depth and difficulty not present in other games in the series.

This game, along with the DS Lite it was bundled with, was pre-owned by the son of a family friend. Don't remember if I had started my first playthrough from the beginning or an existing save file, but I eventually deleted my progress and started over. Even then, I only managed to make it to the final area before abandoning the game.

In retrospect, as a child I didn't understand the importance of leveling up regularly or equipping the proper gear, which would explain the massive difficulty spike I experienced in the late game. Should I return to this game to finally finish it off, it will not be on the original hardware.

the writing is the best part for me- so funny and characterful in a way that modern mario titles aren't. combat is unique, but I just don't have the skill for it!
