the best community made megaman game hands down. the servers are hella fun and the community rules ily 8bdm

genuinely the best mega man storyline/continuity out there, and also the most fun i've had with a doom mod, it's so well done and addictive

Walked into this game expecting a fun, Megaman-themed First person shooter, walked out with a smile on my face with the sheer amount of story, content, and the massive love-letter to this series that I have seen yet!

A must if you're a big fan of Megaman and FPS

This game is so strange like the best parts are the first 6 chapters made years ago but only because they were updated with better maps and weapon variety later, but then the later half has amazing bosses only to cap it off with the worst stupid punch out fight ever right after sunstar, the best fight in any game like this.
But i didnt even download this for the singleplayer that was a far-exceeding-great suprise more than anything. Well, the multiplayer servers are mostly dead except for a class-based alteration to the game that has 130+ classes none of which feel fun due to the whole thing running off of doom which makes the mere act of moving the camera upwards feel weird, much less running around at mach 10 as burnerman as you try to figure out what the actual over 130 classes do. Even the ones i did try for a long period of time didnt feel all that in depth on their own and it felt like playing shitty mega man overwatch.
But im not even talking about mm8bdm anymore am I? "Gondola patch" is a mod of another class based mod for this mega man fan game which is already a doom mod. What? How do you talk about this? Does a mod of a mod of a mod hold as much weight as a mod of a mod? Well apparently so because its the only multiplayer part of this multiplayer game you have a chance of seeing people play right now. This shit makes my head spin i just want to actually play the multiplayer after the singleplayer felt so good, too bad ffa deathmatch is a dead genre even in the games that should hold it up

Probably one of the most amazing ideas for a fan game I’ve ever seen. This game has given me endless fun over the past maybe 7 or 8 years? I dunno. It’s been a LONG TIME

Can be irritating at times but those moments are worth putting up with

My #1 favorite FPS game. Especially class-based teams last man standing.

This game is fucking dope and the class mod makes it even doper-er, when the graphics don't give me a migraine that is.

Had a shitty laptop and this was thenonly game I played THANK YOU CUTSTUFF AND CO

better if youre a megaman fan but its still fun

this game got you boxing a man into the sun this peak mega man fangame nothing will top it i fear

The amount of Content in this game is insane! Every single Classic Megaman Stage has a 3D Version. It also has a cool Story Mode and Bosses. Clearly tons of effort and skill went into creating this game.

However the reason for my lower rating is that i dont think the gameplay really works that well for me. Compared to other 1st Person Shooters the Bullets are super slow and everybody has tons of HP. This results in lots of running in circles around your enemies while they try to do the same. I think it tries to be a bit too faithful to how 2D megaman games play and it just doesn't translate too well into a 1st Person shooter in my opinion.

Still a nice game I've been playing since the early days and like to revisit from time to time to catch up on the updates

it was my first exposure to doom, and it was a good one!

Gosh what a great tribute to Mega Man. What started as a simple Mega Man version of Doom has truly blossomed into one of the best Mega Man fangames I've ever played over the years. I honestly just can't get enough of it. The way that the later chapters adapt the classic series' plot and events is honestly brilliant. The amount of fan service is truly commendable. I almost wish that one day Capcom could give Mega Man the same amount of care in their storytelling as the fans do.

This game is a Doom mod that completely converts everything to a retro Mega Man style. Stages, weapons and skins from the classic Mega Man titles are here in a fast paced FPS and the execution couldn't be better. There isn't much to say about this game other than if the idea interests you at all, you need to play this game. The base game features a classic arena shooter style, in which all players have the same stats and exploring the level to find classic copy weapons and usable items such as E-Tanks, Ammo and assistants like Rush and Eddie is essential. Just about every weapon from Mega Man 1 through 10 are in this game, including those exclusive to the Gameboy games.

Alternatively, I recommend trying out the Class Based Modification mod and the Competitive Gondola Patch for it, which converts the game to be a class-based shooter. Instead of searching for weapons, your selected class determines your weapons. You can play as just about any Robot Master from Mega Man's history including some from Mega Man 11. Each class has moves faithful to their original boss fights, and it couldn't be a more well made product.

If you give this game a shot, the single-player is composed of bot matches in order of Mega Man's history. After fighting in each stage, you fight in the Wily Stages and ultimately an iconic boss such as the Yellow Devil, now in first person. Multiplayer is also an option with servers often up on Doomseeker. I often play this game with friends and adding bots to liven up the lobbies. The bots play the game reasonably well, naturally with great aim, but they often get stuck on ledges over pits and need to be shot at to come back to life essentially, which honestly is my only complaint across the entire game.

This game is insane. You got all the mega man weapons. All robot masters are here. Every stage is here, reimagined as 3D maps. The story for this game is this massive, overarching 14-chapter saga that basically acts as an alternative timeline from Mega man 6 onwards.

As a person who's not good at doom, this is also one of the hardest video games I have played. Almost every boss in this game kicked my ass. Some I had to spend multiple hours just learning their patterns. I didn't want to leave a review until I beat the whole game in normal mode. It took a month but it was absolutely worth it.

Never in my life did I expect the story mode for this funny mega man fps game to be this good. Do yourself a favour and play this one.

I'm honestly crushed that I can't easily recommend the story mode for this without a second thought because the highs in it are some of the strongest in any Mega Man piece of media. It's obvious how much reverence for the classic series is on display here, featuring content for even the most niche side-notes for the series (Wily Wars, the GB spin-offs, etc.) while still carving out its own interpretations and ideas for established characters and bosses.

The downside to this is that you have to play many, many rounds of deathmatch against bots to get to that part. It's fun deathmatch, for what it's worth! Seeing iconic Mega Man stages rendered in a 3D area and watching how the stage gimmicks play into that is really cute, but it's hard for it to not blend together after awhile when you have to do such a huge number of them in a row, and the first half of the story being fairly restrained and uneventful compared to how much it escalates by the end definitely doesn't help either. They do start switching it up by the later chapters where you'll get to experiment with different modes and unique mechanics, but getting there can be a bit rough.

I feel guilty even complaining about this when the game is so high-quality and it's clear how much passion went into it, but it's the main reason that I'd probably have to attach an asterisk when suggesting the single player mode to others. If it sounds interesting to you though, I'd highly recommend checking it out! Even if you don't finish the campaign it's still cool to play around with and there's the other main attraction--the multiplayer mode--which you can also get a ton of mileage out of. I'm really happy this game exists.

holy shit I used to play this on my crappy white desktop mac all the time when I was a kid this game was my first PC fps
