not too sure on a rating yet (3 or 3.5) but damn the show is fun!

i've been playing the yearly NBA2K & madden games for like 8 years now, this is probably better than almost all of them LOL. idk if i can like it more than my favorite 2ks or maddens just because i don't like baseball nearly as much... but the show is so well made.

road to the show is literally leagues above the shit madden and 2k have too. you're telling me i can play as a woman and STILL MAKE THE MLB? that's sm fun. i love being able to actually play as myself in these gamemodes. the rating progression isn't bullshit paytowin like 2k either! i can actually play games and have fun! wow!
also love the actual simulation modes in any sports games. i loveee building teams and getting into 20+ year franchises. the show's pretty good for this... outside some of the UI......... the playoff ui is so ass

i'd say the only underwhelming part of this game is its graphics but i don't really care about that too much. it's a step down from other sports games in that area but it literally excels everywhere else sooooooooo slay

fun game. getting into baseball has been great. GO PADRES!

A pretty good baseball sim that still can't figure out how to scale difficulty in a fair way. The basic mechanics feel accurate but the outcomes can have widely different results which just feels like a random number generator. The game modes on offer are pretty complete but I do wish the gambling/card pack mechanics didn't have to permeate into Road to the Show and Franchise modes. It's fun for a bit but then becomes a grind to get you to collect them all.

I'll probably pick this up again in the future when I want something simple to play but I do wish these sports games would start to think about how to create a difficulty approach that feels authentic.

Last year, it felt like they really eliminated some of the grind in Diamond Dynasty. This year, it feels like we've gone twenty steps backward, and it's not as fun. I tried to complete the Live Series collection (as I do every year), but just couldn't bear to.

The moment-to-moment gameplay is still solid and all - this is MLB: The Show - but it's not nearly as exciting as previous games. Also...am I the only one disappointed that the only MLB player to get a "Storyline" is Derek Jeter? Great player and all, but...just him? And it's not even the whole storyline?

More of the same at this point. The formula still works but could definitely use some improvements (especially graphical ones) in future entries.

totally unrealistic game. you can’t see the player’s balls through their pants anymore.

Still the best yearly sports game

We need to outlaw bright white menu backgrounds. Trying to play this before bed without feeling like I'm staring at the sun.

(otherwise this seems mostly the same as 23, which is still good but could use some innovation)

They’re acting like ea and 2k now. Too much content behind the paywall. Still hope but…
