Mortal Kombat: Deception delivers the series' trademark over-the-top violence and expands its universe with a unique Konquest adventure mode. The combat is fast, brutal, and features the iconic Fatalities fans crave. Deception also introduces innovative features like stage traps and the combo breaker system. However, the Konquest mode sometimes feels unpolished, and some of the new characters lack the charisma of the classics. Still, Mortal Kombat: Deception is a solid entry that offers plenty of gory goodness for fans of the franchise.

I raised the game's rating a little just because I remember having a lot of fun in the chess mode it had

MK Deception brings memories to me, it was the best MK out of the 3D era ones. Huge improvement from Deadly Alliance which was pretty bad.
That intro where Onaga is introduced as the new main Villain is awesome, Raiden joins forces with the Deadly Alliance but they still can't even get a scratch on Onaga, what a great way to present a new kharacter.
The Konquest mode is where its at in this game. It was such a great adventure, exploring all the realms (Netherrealm, Earthrealm, Edenia, Outworld, Chaos Realm and Order Realm) in third person while doing quests. A game within a game, truly something to remember. I remember some of the voice acting was so atrocious it was actually funny:))
And while Shujinko wasn't the best kharacter ever, it was still cool to see him go from a child to an old master on his search for the Kamidogu.
Its definitely a top 5-3 in the MK Series and i wish they bringed back the Konquest mode.

first game i ever played as a 4 year old, holds a special place in my heart i wish there was an easy way to revisit it

I think this one is very underrated. In general i think the gen 6 MK series is better than people give credit for. Particularly this one, you're spoiled for content, you have the core fighting game experience, namely arcade etc. But also included is a puzzle konbat mode which is lots of fun, a chess kombat mode which reminds me of unholy war on the ps1 or something similar. But the big one is the revamped konquest mode.
The konquest mode is now a full fledged game in of itself, basically a tutorial for playing every character blended with a open world adventure and story. I genuinely think this is the best feature of the game; as what you get out of it, is probably the most chilled out fighting game experience possible. It's honestly very zen, there's virtually no konsequences (hehe) to loss or failure, and you're free to roam around collecting currency for the vast unlockables, doing fun little quests and taking in the very calming atmosphere, never has hell itself been so chill.

Here things change.
First of all, Konquest mode is EXCELLENT, it needs to come back URGENT.
Then the atmosphere of the stages, the roster... everything is better than the previous one

definitely not as good as i remembered (i was like 4) but not as bad as i thought it would’ve been

One of my favorite games ever is this fighting game that I never play for the fighting. No, I love Deception for its Konquest Mode that was so deep and involving that it should have been its own game. Sadly, I've never found another Mortal Kombat game Konquest Mode that lived up to the one on display in Deception. What a shame.

Much better than its previous, Noob/Smoke is cold, and make me wish there were more combo style characters like that in these games. Also don't see how MK11 tried to act like they reintroduced weapons, when this trilogy shows what weapons really are.

Hands down my favorite MK title. Its a bold choice, especially with how divisive the roster is, the 3D fight style, the cringeworthy dialogue, and a smaller crypt. Yet, it still manages to solidfy itself as the most content rich MK title with an endless barage of fun and deep diving that the Konquest mode allows. I'll be playing this again soon, but its without a doubt the best PS2 game and my personal pick for best MK

That game that got me into martial arts.

Não é ruim, da pra se divertir

Só joguei porque tinha mortal Kombat no nome..mas não é um jogo ruim kk

Maybe I should give this game a second shot one of these days.

I remember thinking it was mid just because I played it after Armageddon. But I was still a dumbass child and in all honesty, Armageddon is most likely the worse game.

Honestly, this has all the same complaints I have for the prequel game, Deadly Alliance, however now it has much more content. I did like the adventure mode, and the Puzzle Kombat was pretty fun to play around with, but if the core fighting is still infuriating to play with I don't see a reason to come back to this. At the very least, I recommend this over the prequel if you do want to play one of these games, just due to the sheer amount of content it has over the last one.

amazing soundtrack, fun gameplay, good roster, amazing conquest

Um dos segundo MK que mais joguei no ps2, os minigames e modo história me prendeu demais e curti muito mais a vibe desse do que o mk anterior, esse aqui tá insano em todos sentidos, me diverti muito jogando essa pérola aqui

10/10

(Replay) The best MK of the 3D era. The story was great for the time and the gameplay, while not the best in the franchise, is easily the most refined version of the 3D MK games. Chess Kombat is a certified banger of a game mode.

high rating because konquest mode is VERY fun
