Final Fantasy 14 continues to be a wonderful experience for me and my friends. While not as captivating as Heavensward, the story is still better than any MMO has any right to be. The gameplay is fun as always, and the ease of dropping in and out makes it so that we can come in and out of the game as we please. Looking forward to seeing how Shadowbringers continues where this plot leaves off. Alisae is best Scion, don't @ me.

First I will give my opinion in a non spoiler way, then add more at the end that covers the spoilers.
FF7 Rebirth is game of a lifetime. Something that I thought could never be a reality. I have a couple issues but they are so miniscule compared to my joys that I almost don't care.
The combat is fluid and satisfying, even more so than Remake. The open world, while borrowing a lot from the Ubisoft tower style, is still a joy to explore. The story is familiar yet unique from the source. The games creators love these characters, it's shows in every single interaction they have. They continue to be the best version of these characters, and they probably always will be.
On to my complaints, I don't care for the new weapon upgrade system as much as the one offered in remake, and the other thing is a voice direction thing that I won't get into now because of spoilers. However as I said, I don't much care about those things, as this games small negatives are immensely outweighed by it's massive positives.
Final Fantasy 7 has been reborn once again, and it still remains to be one of the best gaming experiences of all time.
On to the Spoiler part of the review.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is such a wonderful experience. I'd have never thought the remakes could be as good as the original and in most ways I think it is. Somehow it not only manages to be a sequel to remake but also one to Crisis Core.
Every area is perfectly realized. From Kalm to Del Sol to the Forgotten Capital. It loves it's characters first and foremost. I genuinely think these are the definitive versions of these characters. Though we need to see more of Vincent and Cid. We know nothing about them in this. They even skip rocket town. I'm not crazy about the new voice they give red halfway in, it makes sense, but it's just.... Not executed well at all.
The temple and the mansion drag on a bit too long but unlike Hojo's lab in Remake I don't think they overstay their welcome too long.
The best character moments are still Dyne and Barret, and Red and Seto. Both made me cry, as did the temple trials. Heartbreaking. The finale is incredible, the Zack/Cloud team up I was certain would be saved for the 3rd game. I was also incredibly shocked to see Bazarro Sephiroth show up.
However, because of how it is handled, and the Action set piece that follows it, as well as poor Cloud's horrible mental state, Aerith's death loses a lot of it's emotional impact. The implications of what follow make up for this, but I also knew she would be killed. I'm curious what a brand new player will think of this. That said, it's almost more fucked up that cloud can still see her. It fuels his delusions even more.
Long story short, 0/10, they didn't play birth of a god when I fought Bazzaro Sephiroth. LMAO, nah but for real it's a 10/10 for me. Well done. The final game has a lot to live up to. Here's hoping they stick the landing.

This is a truly wonderful game. I have never played any version of P3 before this, but having finished this I feel as though I have missed out. These aren't my favorite characters in the franchise, but by the end I cared deeply about each and every one of them. The themes and values it portrayed, as well as the plot puts it at minimum on par with Persona 5's theme and plot in my eyes. Persona always oozes style, and this is no exception. The artstyle and visual direction is superb. The combat is flashy and as satisfying as usual. The music is godly, as to be expected from Persona. I even shed a few tears by games end. Truly, another Atlus masterpiece.
