I knew it was going to be bad before playing it, and it was. I got stuck on a boss that oneshots when he's low on health and there's no way to stop him. So I guess that's how the game ends: You can't win. Outside of that it's also really bad, everything kills you with no warning, you don't even start with your sub-zero powers, but you don't need them, the fights vs random enemies (that are copypasted sprites from previous MK games) are extremely easy. There's not a single redeemable thing about this game.

Clunky first attempt of an action adventure Mortal Kombat game. I really appreciate all the lore that added to the franchise, including the debut of Shinnok, Quan Chi, Sareena and Fujin (I also really like Jataaka!).

O jogo é bem ruim, mas na época lembro que até conseguia me divertir com ele.

I wish I could go back in time and punch 10 year-old me in the face for actually liking this garbage, what the fuck was wrong with that guy.

Okay, let's be honest: there was a 0% chance of a Mortal Kombat action-platformer turning out any better than average, especially in the year 1997. That said, this is a particularly incompetent example of the genre, and one that disappointed many hardcore MK fans such as myself back in the day. The concept of taking individual MK characters and building a series of non-fighting games around them was a potentially interesting one, and Shaolin Monks would later fulfill that potential. It's too bad that Mythologies killed that idea before it even got off the ground. It's also notable for containing the most baffling "moral choice" I've ever seen in a video game.

this one is not the racing game

Game certainly had some problems and was insanely difficult but I really enjoy it. Yes it can be awkward having fighting game controls in a platformer and having a button dedicated to just turning your character around. The game had a cool atmosphere and focusing everything on one character (Sub Zero) works for the better. Being able to earn experience and level up your freezing powers was great. Everytime I missed a jump or got crushed I felt like it was my fault. The game asks a lot of practice and memorization for sure. So I understand where people are coming from when they say this game isn't good. I get it. Despite it all I still liked it. I kept coming back trying to get further and further. In the end I think it's better than say Batman Forever which also tried the fighting game controls in an adventure game.

This is one of the best games ever made, no other platformer gives you so much control of your character, you can literally decide when you turn, it also features combo potential from a fighting game, countless of different ways to get rid of enemies that reward EXP.
Another interesting system of this game that rewards you for fighting enemies.
There is a total of 9 different special moves for the player to unlock, each well thought and designed.

Unlike most platformers that tend to be extremely simple on its design, Mythologies offers an engaging and complex combat system that turn the act of dispatching enemies int a endless stream of fun.

Level design provides a tough but fair challenge to the player, that rewards accomplishment on its mastery.

You can collect items around the world promoting exploration and strategic use of them, there are many items to collect each affecting gameplay in a unique way.

Another of its great features its the AAA Live action cutscenes, something not so rare now but back in 97 that was an achievement of its own.

Boss fights are interesting and unique, with hidden mechanics never seen before, some bosses require the player to use the environment.
The game features multiple endings, the player´s actions affect how the story develops promoting multiple play-troughs.

The game contains 8 words to explore each unique and interesting in its own way.

A Hidden gem of a game that´s plagued with negativity because gamers find to difficult to press a single button and are too afraid to be challenged.

So I played 10 minutes of that shit before freaking out with the shit controls and never playing again.
