A pretty good improvement over the first. I loved the new gameplay mechanics and the story was really well done. I think it’s a must play for anything with a VR and wants something that is a little different.

After Moss ended on a cliffhanger, I was excited to get into Book II. Book II kept the same narrative captivity as the first game and improved the level and character designs. I really enjoyed the puzzling in this game and combat significantly more. The only thing I could ask for is an improved VR headset that doesn't hurt my head after a couple hours, but that isn't a problem for the Moss devs to solve.

Fantastic game. The big improvements over the first surprised me and solved any issues I had with that.

‘Moss: Book II’ is another enjoyable visit to the world of Quill and the animal characters around her. It is ‘more’ than the original in just about every way except for, perhaps, play time. More varied environments. More abilities. More weapons. More verticality. More playable characters. More boss battles. I enjoyed trying my hand at all of the new features. And the storybook dioramas that make up each screen remain detailed and really beautiful. VR serves this series very well. A few things hold the star rating back for me. For one, though I played 'Book II' on PSVR2, the quality of the visuals did not seem to be improved beyond the game designed for the last generation console. For two, each level of ‘Book II’ is behind a door in a central hub castle to which you return after completing the level. That prevents ‘Moss II’ from ever feeling like the epic journey of 'Book I.’ So, while ‘Book II’ is ‘more’ than ‘Book I,’ it doesn’t ever feel quite as big or as grand.

I love the first Moss and Moss: Book 2 did not disappoint. The game made some much needed gameplay improvements but most of all I enjoyed just being present in tiny Quill’s world again.

fantastic! love the new stuff and how they built onto the first game. why they tryna make me cry into my VR headset tho? need a Quill plushie immediately, thanks. my only complaint is the platforming was a little unforgiving, and a couple of the hidden scrolls were hidden a little too well. got dizzy a little on that last bit. but god they did such a great job! the setting and the music? chef's kiss

Like the first Moss but with more gameplay ideas. The boss fight are so memorable.

Much better than the first book in so many ways. The narrative is more dynamic, and unlike the first game, there is actual progression in the gameplay mechanics that keeps each chapter fresh and interesting. In more instances than the first game, it reminded me of a Zelda game, yet very linear and with simpler puzzles. As far as combat, the boss fights are more varied and full of spectacle, yet the overall enemy variety is still rather poor. The environment designs in this game are much more elaborate and several led to true "WOW" moments that were awesome to experience in VR (especially the final area and boss fight).

It still suffers from a lack of quality of life features: there's no option to skip cutscenes when replaying a chapter (for a 2022 game this is baffling), and I found the inventory UI and controls cumbersome (there should have been a button to swap equipped items rather than the whole dragging thing in VR). I was interesting to play for 100% completion after I beat the game, but seeing how limited the chapter select was turned me off of that immediately.

If you are limited on time or money, I'd recommend skipping the first Moss and jumping right into this one. It is a direct sequel, so you will be missing out on a lot of setup and character building, but watching the cutscenes or reading a synopsis of the first game might suffice. Overall it's an jam-packed yet concise and cute adventure that's worth playing.

The combat has been improved, it looks stunning at times and it plays great. I don't really have much bad to say about this. It's pretty much just an improvement on the first one.

I do wish it felt more like an adventure like the first one. Now it has more of the feeling of going through levels and coming back to hub world.
