Man, it feels weird playing NBA 2K14 nowadays. Back then, it was the bees' knees – crazy graphics (for the time), cool MyPlayer mode... But the gameplay feels so stiff now, and honestly, there have been way too many improvements since. Plus, who wants to play with a totally outdated roster? This one's cool for a hit of nostalgia if you loved it back in the day, but compared to modern 2K titles, it's just outdated.
I feel like I played this 2k the most back in the day. All of them are really similar but this one i remember most clearly bc of how sick the intro was.

this is the PS3 release, and it does just feel like the bullshit was stripped from 2K13, so it’s a fine enough basketball game. It was also before 2K went money hungry so it doesn’t cost you a kidney and gigabit fiber to have fun

They "abuse exploits"... Just press the same few buttons over and over and then... AUTOMATIC POINTS!! I thought they'd be done with that by the next year but NOPE!! The same game over and over these days... (that I've seen back then...) Including the "association"!! Bummer...
I stopped around 5+ years ago... I purposely broke a game... I was done...
I must've inspired them to include women in games today!! I made a custom roster of "women"/"WNBA" players... (the best I could make them with male figures...) And I guess it's the reason they add them today 🤷 Whoopee!!! Cha cha cha~~ Be well!!

funny how the first eighth gen 2K looks way better than the latest eighth gen 2K
this series needs to at least try to be good at some point right? but at least they put effort into the track list...
The PS3 version of this game is excellent, spent so many hours in MyLeague (or was it Association back then?) doing weird stuff like rookie only teams, or rebuilding bad teams, and other stuff like that. Played MyCareer until my character made the hall of fame as well.
Another really good sports game from the golden age of NBA games.
