Broken ass game from nearly 10 years ago with two awful main modes that require microtransactions to work and with another game mode that asks you to spend several hours (mygm) before letting you do the cool shit that you actually want to do and that is plagued with stupid fucking incessant micromanaging garbage like talking to your players to keep their morale up or whatever. Most of the money seems to go to the fucking mycareer cutscenes that most people either don’t care about or actively hates. Every little thing they tried to do to make the game cool and hip is boomer nonsense that messes with the actually cool things of a basketball games, it just gets in the way between the player and a decent sport simulation. The engine is slow as shit and now you can’t even TAKE FUCKING JUMPSHOTS because the margin of error is so slim that you have to actually like get the timing down to a frame BUT EVERY PLAYER IN THE GAME HAS A DIFFERENT ANIMATION AND A DIFFERENT TIMING SO IT IS SEEMINGLY ONLY OPTIMIZED TO BE FUN IN A COMPETITIVE MYPLAYER MODE BUT BREAKS THE REST OF THE FUCKING GAME AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THIS WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS STUPID ASS SHIT I DON’T UNDERSTAND PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME!!!

to be honest. This is my very first 2k game and it sucks and wins in both.
Playing just a match between you and your friends - sure. Fun, Charming, whatever you wanna call it.
Afterwards tried the other game modes, mycareer, quick matches and so on. I don't know when an AAA game felt so 2010.
The graphics look the same as I saw on the 2k12th game. realisticness despite playing the matches sucks. The story mode in my career dialogs are good, but the characters and the underworked textures made it feel just bad. Maybe I was expecting too much, but comparing it to FIFA - such an underdog this game is.

I play these games an unhealthy amount. Out of all the games I play, every year, 2k is the most time played. Yet outside of Madden, the NBA2K franchise is my lowest reviewed franchise by far.

All that being said, this year for once I felt that my 60/70 dollar purchase was worth it. I don't know how long its been since I could say that for a sports game.

My career and the city is the WORST its ever been in 2k23. Its unplayable GARBAGE. Yet this is still my favorite 2k in years. Ignoring that horrendous mode, MyTeam almost had its best year to date. Had they just not done out of position players so people have 20ft tall lineups, it would have been the best. It was for once a great experience for someone who never buys micro transactions. MyLeague, though not changed much at all, was still great and had far less bugs in my experience. The OFFLINE gameplay quite easily was the best its ever been.

reason it is not higher than 3 stars:
- My Career/City is an embarrassment to game development
- Out of position hurt myteam
- absurd micro transactions as present as ever
- online gameplay is clunky
- did I mention how bad my career and the city is?

I give this game a 3 star rating because some parts of the game I love while others I hate.I love myteam yes there is micro transactions but you don’t have to spend money to have a good team you just have to grind.My career is horrible because you either have to spend 200 dollars or grind hours and hours to max out a build.One mode I love playing is my nba eras you get to pick a nba team from either the modern era of the nba or 3 other eras that allows you to go back in time and pick a team from that time and you get to rebuild the team and make trades and draft and win championships it’s a lot of fun.A problem with this game is that it is you green your shot or you miss which makes shooting hard which makes the play style of the game running to the rim and dunking or mashing with tall players which makes short players in myteam unable to be used.

Hadn't played a 2k game in a couple of years, and the gameplay felt exactly the same with the exception that jump shots are now extremely difficult to make. Even when your player is wide open, the release window is incredibly small and it just felt almost unnatural. My friend and I played three games, and the winner was determined by who had the most points in the paint, since shots weren't falling from anywhere else on the court. Only reason I give this 2 stars is cause D Wade still goes hard on the 05-06 Heat.

Nâo senti praticamente nenhuma diferença desde o 2k20 (3 anos atrás), mas o fato de terem servidores brasileiros no MyPark, já me deixou bem mais confortável de jogar.
Tem os mesmos defeitos de literalmente todos os jogos de esportes anuais, serem exatamente a mesma coisa que o game do ano passado, com algumas mínimas mudanças em times, e claro, por Full price.
Uma coisa que quero pontuar é que esse jogo acrescentou uma grande variedade na criação de personagem, então da pra fazer várias combinações.
Não tem quase nenhuma mudança ou adições do anterior, isso é um saco, mas não aguento mais reclamar disso em jogos desse tipo, as empresas simplesmente nunca vão mudar isso, então fod4se.
Eu me divirto jogando porque é meu esporte favorito, além de ter um grupo de amigos que jogam bastante, então da pra curtir, mas se você não se importa com o online, e tem qualquer um do 2k20 pra cima, pode ficar neles mesmo, provavelmente só terão mudanças significativas lá pro 2k26.

Hopkins was absolutely impeccable. His eyes ...... oh my HIS EYES, his eyes on their own just portrayed such intensity & emotion. I felt glued to them & couldn't look away. I wanted to wrap my arms around him & hug him tight.

John Merrick was one of the most beautiful people, the way he spoke, his nature. So much genuine love for everything. He made my heart so so happy. Even more so knowing it's a true story. After so much hate from human beings... So heart felt & true to life. Real emotion. Awwww.... I love this so so much I could cry... cry more.

It was a good 2k. I am still upset with how 2k changed the dribble moves with the right stick back on 2k21. It was way better before as the dribble moves coincided with the direction the stick was moved. Now it seems like the dribble moves got simplified. More so about a video game set up for dribble moves rather than a basketball focused one. Shooting in the game also seemed much move difficult than previous games. I think that largely came down to the shot meter which never looked great. Apart from those two complaints, I enjoyed the time I spent with the game. I retired the game because I find myself just waiting to get ahold of Wembanyama in 2k24. Hopefully 2k24 can continue the great simulation style individual game modes created for 2k23.

Man, fuck 2K. These games are just gross now. I usually check in with NBA2K every few years or so, just to see if they've actually made any changes to the gameplay or tried to make it a better game. And its just getting worse, year by year. The fact that this is the only basketball game in the market is a travesty.

The actual basketball, yeah its pretty good, not much has been changed or innovated in the last decade though. Why not have both a sim experience but also a fun arcadey NBA Jam experience too? Anyway, the actual gameplay is still fun and pretty addictive.

Absolutely EVERYTHING else though is fucking gross and cringe. The blatant disgusting advertising in this game is just shameless. The "Quests" you get in my career mode are just bullshit. For example, one of the quests you go talk to some guy who talks about State Farm insurance and encourages you to wear SFI apparel in order to get some bonuses. Then you go catch up with Zion Williamson (when he's not banging porn stars I guess) who is wearing Mountain Dew apparel and shilling for them, which is pretty fucking ironic because Zion is constantly injured because of his weight issues. then you go talk to some chick who is wearing Gatorade apparel and tells you to train the Gatorade gym and drink Gatorade to earn temporary bonuses. Like, these aren't quests, its fucking blatant advertising.

And then you get the my career story, which is so fucking cringe and feels like it was written and acted by AI. Remember when we had Michael B Jordan doing this shit, well those days are long gone. Its all situations you've seen and done in every 2K game for the past decade. You've got an annoying agent, an annoying PR chick, annoying team owners, and annoying rival players who try to start some beef with you for some inexplicable reason. The my career story mode is just lazy recycled boredom.

And then you get My team mode, which is basically just a grind mode with loot boxes. Fucking gross 2K.

If you actually pay money to buy NBA2K every year, you are a straight up moron.
