Why this medal: The game was good at first, we were doing parkour, it had a fluent, fast gameplay. Then the troubles started. The game has a whip mechanic called "whip" and you have to aim and hit while playing with the arm. We can climb parts that we cannot reach with a whip. The aiming part does not work properly most of the time, it works much better with the keyboard and mouse, but I played with the controller. Additionally, there are both permanent improvements and in-level improvements in the game. While pursuing these improvements, there are ridiculous losses of life and loss of tempo. Permanent improvements in the game turn to grind. Temporary improvements within the stage turn into a "what should I stop and collect now?" situation. On difficult stages, stopping and buying a chest is not an ordeal. The final point that made me lose my patience and quit the game was the increasingly difficult stages. There are mobs that attack you while doing parkour in the game. I'm doing my parkour, and while I'm playing with the stress of "how am I going to jump there?", a son of a bi comes from behind and plays his stupid music, makes the screen vibrate, paints it red, blinds me, enters my mouth and takes most of my life, and these mobs are always around you, all the time. One bastar is sending poison bombs and you have no room to move. I got angry while writing and will lower the score even more. Fck the game you're making. We are making beautiful parkours, no, we are going to do it rogue like, collect upgrades, it is a grind-filled souls game, and it puts you at the beginning, and there are stupid, stupid son of btch mobs that drive you crazy.

Oyundaki kalıcı geliştirmeler grind'a dönüyor.

Was fun for the first section, but once I found how much there was to do, it lost its appeal very quickly. I don't think ill be picking this game up again anytime soon.

J'ai grindé ce jeu tout le weekend et, malgré mes petites frustrations auquel j'ai dû faire face à cause que le jeu m'a forcé à get good, j'ai tellement eu de plaisir avec ce First-Person precision platformer

First very interesting, after a little time it showed itself as very repetitive and a little frustrating with some of it's gameplay mechanics

not as good as roblox ultimate troll parkour challenge

Honestly fun at first but the deeper you get into the game, the more you realise that its basically shown you most of what it has within the first hour of play. After that its a lot of grind, a lot of repetitive content and a lot of hooting and hollering about nothing where it feels as if your accomplishments often have little rhyme or reason to in-game progression which kills the mood after a while.

Don't get me wrong, it has its moments of tense 'Will I make it?' and the moments of 'Can I make it?' thrown in and when the game gets good, it feels thrilling... But then you're just thrown back into a level piece you feel you've seen fifty times by that point and all the excitement just drains back out. Having no way to quickly just jump in/out of runs, forcing you to go through the main chamber every single time is frustrating as can be too.

Its again a shame as it really does have those moments which makes you go chefs kiss but they are few and far between and because of how the game is built, feels more like chance moments than anything done on purpose.

premise is great it just has a lack of content, as well as optimization issues

once stuff is added a the bugs are ironed out I could see this being much better.

The streamer genre cranks out yet another water flavoured banger. Essentially just Cloudbuilt if they forgot to design the levels. In the time it took to see all of the prefab rooms at least twice, I still had enough time to refund the game. Pmuch worthless unless you're Northernlion.

A game that seems to have come out much too late to capitalize on that 'First-Person Perspective Temple Run' vibe it was going for. I'll give it this, it definitely did nail that vibe. The only goal of the game is to complete each course as quickly as possible, and boy will you want to do exactly that, because in about 60 minutes you'll realize that this game offers nothing more than that. There is a sprinkling of symbiotic mechanics attempting to prop up that premise, but man are they barebones and bland. I feel as though this game engine could be used to make a really interesting modern rendition of Pitfall Harry, and if they did something more along the lines of that, count me in next time! As for this outing, the only reason I'm giving them 3/5 instead of 2.5/5 is they get half a point for a cute and original premise executed decently.

A first person jump'n'run through a temple with a whip - 'nuff said.

[Played in Early Access]
Phantom Abyss is a very addictive parkour challenge game for anyone who loves their movement shooters, but it feels like there's been a lot of missed oppurtunities that hopefully get implemented and rework the game over time.

The economy is very stingy and powerups are minor, making it impossible to upgrade frequently to make varying roguelite builds and the pace slows to a crawl as soon as you realise you don't really need to race through the temples, which feels at odds with the game's fast paced movement.

I've had this game on my Steam wishlist for a few months now and lucked out when it popped up on Game Pass. Really clever idea to make it feel like a massive multiplayer while not requiring concurrent players. The simple but satisfying moveset lets you pull of some fun jumps and stunts. And making your way through the trials while seeing other phantoms perish is really cool...

Unfortunately, like others have said, it gets old surprisingly fast. I've completed 3 of the temples and it already feels pretty repetitive. It lacks a lot of variety and tries to incentivize you with new whips, but they don't feel significantly different.

Great Game Pass game. Give it a shot for a fun hour or so of a clever idea. Beyond that, it will needs some new updates and/or modes to make me interested in playing again.

Really fun and fulfilling movement, but does lack content currently. Should be amazing once it's out of early access.

The game has a really cool premise, but the game as is is rather shallow. it is an early access title though so i hope it gets better with time. but i haven't seen much to indicate that the game will improve or change

A lot more fun than I thought it would be, with a really interesting and unique gimmick!
