I can see how this would be alright on a road trip or if you need to kill a quick 20 minutes but clicker games aren't really my thing

Excellent setting, concept, and theming. Gameplay is great but has a few kinks here and there. Holds up just fine in the modern day, minus some QOL. PvZ definitely shaped my taste and sense of humor as a kid.

I honestly didn't expect a tower defense-like game concept where you fend off the undead with the bottom of the food pyramid of all things, but this game makes it work big time. PopCap's lush garden is amongst the best tower defense games out there with Bloons and Kingdom Rush as the uncontested kings of the genre in my personal opinion. The simple gameplay is absolutely engaging, and it is one game I can always fall back on for a good time. That weed killer won't be necessary I assure you. Gardening would honestly be way more interesting if crops like these were the results.

Melhor tower defense q existiu

A classic that never goes out of style.

unironically played while camping and was so nice

I swear, everytime I try to play this one with the objective of finishing it the save datas delete themselves.
Other than that: gameplay can feel slow to engage, but once it does you'll feel the big fun. And when it's over you'll start to it again.
It's a fun and original idea still. Games like this deserves the praise.

Replayed this so many times, and it's so perfect. So much content and replayability, with an amazing soundtrack and memorable character designs. One of my all-time favourites.

Plants vs. Zombies is a canonical game, personally. Foundational gaming memories and skills were forged in the crucible my older cousin and I were enamoured in when casual games were wholesome, accessible but complete experiences that any kid with an iPod Touch could have the pleasure of playing.

Companies like old PopCap rarely survive anymore, let alone prosper to produce classics like PvZ. I appreciate that some of my first experiences of games set such a high standard.

It's a tower defense game artistically embroiled in the 2010 pop culture zombie obsession. It's a casual game at heart (my sister, whose furthest gaming pursuit is Hay Day could beat it) but picks up the Nintendo difficulty philosophy in creating depth with a very low skill floor, before the indie revolution.

Compared to - sci-fi army base or medieval fort - its presentation opts for a joyful sunflower protected by a snarled venus flytrap with massive fangs attacked by a goofy zombified pole vault athlete who will leap over said venus fly-trap. Your guide isn't some war hero, general, or diembodied voice but a clinically insane neighbour who speaks gibberish and wears a pot on his head. It's presentation has aged so well and remains utterly unique - it would pretty much legitimise an entire franchise worth $750 million to EA. Is Garden Warfare mechnically mediocre? Probably. But I don't give a shit, it's stylistic direction makes me want to play it anyway.

The suburban almanac itself is a pleasure to read through. (This is where I learnt the word "suburban". Also to pronounce the word "approaching", in the warning message upon waves.) Each plant and zombie is so distinct, oozing with character.

Moreover, PvZ feels like a complete gaming package in ways that modern games rarely capture. It's main campaign is 5 worlds each with 8 standard levels, a mini-game, and a showdown type finale. That's accompanied by a host of endless modes, a few dozen one-off minigames, and two collections of spinoffs: Vasebreaker and I, Zombie. There's a Zen Garden for some slow burn collectibles producing a currency to buy more plants and upgrades. Throw in some fun achievements incentivising some bonus challenges a little time investment and you've got yourself a god damned holistic experience that I would recommend to everybody. It's a modern classic. It's PopCap's magnum opus. It's my nostlagic darling. It's Plants vs. Zombies.

weirdly lacks some content of other releases but it's plants vs zombies

Great, but I wish they added more content in this new rerelease.

This game has no right to be as good as it is. A casual tower defence game that is very easy to pick up and play that is also incredibly entertaining to a more hardcore gamer like myself isn't something you see very often, but low and behold here we are!

This is one of the most perfectly designed games of all time. Visuals, soundtrack, gameplay design, everything is perfect. If you haven't played this game before, please rectify your mistake.

The gameplay loop is extremely addicting and does a great job of having each tool you get helping to counter a new threat. The game behaves logically, and mostly without any reading necessary due to the design of each of the plants implying what they do.

I could talk about the creativity behind this concept, but I believe it is evident. The premise is simple but captivating, the character designs and environment designs are perfect, and the soundtrack is among the best in all of gaming.

Post-game, this has some of the most compelling content I could possibly imagine. The mini-games that are so fun and entertaining that I could play a whole game full of them, and the puzzle/survival modes extend the life even further in ways that aren't simply replaying the adventure mode.

Truly, a masterclass in game design, and something that I wish the modern studio that holds PopCap's name could ever hope to replicate. Do yourself a favor and play this game if you haven't already.

Proves that preparing for a zombie apocalypse can be surprisingly therapeutic, especially when your arsenal includes peashooters and cherry bombs. It's a subtle reminder that sometimes, gardening is just a more socially acceptable way to deal with the undead.

The perfect comfort food game. Not terribly difficult and the same tactics work for pretty much every level, but it has enough variety between stages and enemies to keep it from being utterly mindless. Was feeling kinda shitty and playing this was a nice pick-me-up. Great music too.

Haven't played it in years and craved some tower defense gameplay. To no surprise, it delivered. Can't go wrong with some good ol' PvZ.

Such a good tower defence game.

It's PVZ, how can I not give it 5 stars?
