Police Quest came out as Sierra's more somber and down to earth third pillar relative to Space and King's Quest. Unfortunately, releasing a somewhat dull police procedural with a text parser interface in 1987 didn't make for a very compelling game, especially when the storyline ended up falling far short of the epic sounding premise of the subtitle.

One of the starting points of my Sierra game love.

Literally unplayable as in didn't age well. Props to 1987 for having so much time but this is insanely time-consuming.

Just as frustrating as other Sierra games at the time. The problem here is that, unlike those, it lacks humor, as Police Quest wants to be a serious examination of the everyday life of a patrolman. Unfortunately with the extremely limited writing skills of an ex-cop. Everything that happens has been seen more nuanced and better in various media over the last 36 years. All of this makes Police Quest an extremely boring and unfun game.

Maybe I'm a smooth brain but this game is basically impossible without a walkthrough. Despite that this is still a fun zany adventure game.
