Games like this were made to make people cry. The Story is you play as a badger mother trying to make your journey through 5 levels well making sure nothing happens to your babies, this is a great simple to understand game for people to play, but might get sad if they are not good at protecting them, and even if they are, the ending is tear jerking.
Graphics are simply designed, yet have a stylish beautiful tone that makes the limitations look better than expensive graphics. The Gameplay of travelling past predators, rushing water, fire, and creepy sounds that can scare them is a bit stiff to control, so might need a bit of practice to get used to before doing well during life threatening moments. Music is peaceful, and works well when changing to something sinister when a predator is near by. Shelter is a wonderful example of a short beautiful game, that surpasses loads of mediocre expensive ones.

In Shelter, you control a mommy badger leading her baby badgers through the dangers of nature. You play through a variety of scenarios, including forest fires, storms and dangerous nights, and you must protect your cubs from predators and other threats.
It's... okay. Its message will resonate with some people, but I forgot the game not long after finishing it. To its credit, it's also super short, so play it if you want to try something unusual.

Shelter is a sobering tale about what it means to be a mother. I can't claim to really know what a mother goes through every day, but if it's half as stressful, rewarding, saddening, and glorious as Shelter portrays it to be... I want to say a quick thank you to mothers everywhere. You're doing a wonderful job. And I think I'm going to call my mom real quick, just to tell her I love her. This game is about 75 minutes long. If you're able, I really think playing it with your mother would be a great bonding experience.
Sublime.
