don't remember it much, but i don't understand why everyone likes it so much it's just whatever i have to replay it when the remaster comes out

I love this sonic game. The gameplay is great for the most part except that the boss fights really suck and when it goes 2D in modern sonic it just sucks.

i've soured on boost sonic a little as i've gotten older, but generations is still undeniably cool and one of the last sonic games that actually felt really polished

let me just play as the large sonic please!

A great celebration of Sonic's history, but the 2D in the 3D levels is not my favorite. The actual 2D classic sonic levels are great though. The boss is actually terrible though holy shit.

Sonic Generations is one of the few games where my opinion of it across 10 years has remained a constant "Hell yeah". Whereas a lot of Sonic games have started showing their weaker aspects as I grew older, Gens remains incredibly fun, mezmerizing, thrilling and wonderful.

Not only does it have jawdropping presentation and insanely good music, not only are the controls responsive and tight, but the level design is just sublime, making full use of sonic's original philosophy of "good skill = faster route" to make speedrunning and replayability an absolute blast.

The worst level in this game is probably act 1 of Planet Wisp, which is an okay level, and the final boss unanimously blows, but then the remaining 90% of the game is nothing but banger stage after another. Seaside Hill Act 2 might just be the best level in Sonic History I'm not fucking kidding.

A lot's been said about classic sonic's less than perfect physics and modern sonic's boost to win philosophy, but you won't hear it from me. Even if neither gameplay style works like we would like them to, both of them perfectly compliment the level design they're placed into, so I'm not complaining.

The game's short length is certainly a bit disappointing. I think they could have levels from cd, advance and rush in them if they weren't rushed to oblivion. That said, the challenges are an extremely welcomed addition that make that fact stink a heck of a lot less.

I will say though, for as much as I'll always pick the PC version over the ps3 one, there are sooo many crashes and little bugs in PC that weren't present in PS3, showing how Sega didn't have pc ports figured out back then. It isn't a dealbreaker, but it was pretty annoying.

Sonic Generations is nostalgia done right. Back when Sonic was having an identity crisis and Green Hill hadn't been brought back a billion times, Generations served as a reminder of everything the franchise gave us both good and bad, packaged in a new code of paint like we never dreamed of. I deeply, deeply love this game, and at this point, I'm pretty sure I always will.

The best Sonic The Hedgehog has to offer. Literally my only complaint is that the final boss sucks. I originally bought a Playstation 3 for this and I still feel it was worth it.

- Very fun, levels are varied and the switching between 3D and 2D keeps the levels fresh.
- The modification mechanics give some replayabilty and of course being sonic, time trials.

This game was legendary for Sonic fans when it came out. I dearly miss this era of Sonic. What, with the awesome Jazwares toys, cool games, and a sort of retrospective look on the series when it was merely 20 years old.

Classic Sonic isn't particularly the star of the show, as his stage design is only fairly good. But I think fairly good was what we needed after the travesty that was Sonic 4 Episode I. His levels may not be Sonic 2 or Sonic 3&K tier good, but they're solid enough.

Modern Sonic really steals the show. His creative reimagining of Classic and Adventure era stages, made to be blindingly fast with tons of cool obstacles and enemies really appealed to me as a kid and still appeal to me now.

The only issue I have with this game is that the quality seemingly falls off right in the final stage, Planet Wisp. Which was done way better in Sonic Colors, the game before this. Also, the game is just so short, with only 9 levels (18 if you split the Classic and Modern sides up). I 100%ed the game, it's many missions, and achievements in under 23 hours. Now imagine how much faster that'd have been if it was just a normal playthrough.

Downsides: The story is nothing special and classic sonic is the one from sonic 2, so we don't have sonic CD moveset, the final bossfight is terrible.

Upsides: This game is almost perfect, classic sonic is fast and fun, modern sonic is unleashed + colors but only the good part (no double jump or homing attack on the boost button), but the real star here is the level design, one level from every main sonic game reimagined, remade and amazing, with a LOT of pathways, shortcuts and very balanced, fast and amazing stages. I just don't agree with the choice of Planet Whisp for Colors and Seaside Hill for Heroes, but that's just my preference.

A lot of fanservice, amazing level design, the OST is fire, FAST AND FUN!

The best sonic game ever made

Sonic Generations is pure nostalgia fuel for any long-time Sonic fan. Zipping through classic levels in both old-school 2D and awesome 3D versions is a blast! The bosses are fun, the music is a banger, and the story, though simple, is a cheesy good time. It's a bit short, and some levels can be frustrating, but if you want that classic Sonic feel with some cool new twists, Generations is definitely worth checking out!

decent time, a bit too short though.

AYO 2 BANGERS IN A ROW SONIC IS SO BACK

Yo creo que el mejor Sonic que jamás se ha hecho. El diseño gráfico, el diseño de niveles, la música, los personajes... Era fan de Sonic sin yo saberlo

Good Sonic game but the gameplay is clunky at times

GET THE BLUE HEDGEHOG AND ADD HIS YOUNGER SELF BECAUSE FUCK YEAHH

very fun game, probably the best game (atleast gameplay wise) using the boost formula

oh yeah and classic sonic is there

its very good even if there's basically no story

This game is just whimsy at its core. A lot of people give it flack for the story but that's just a bit unjustified. It's pure and honest fanservice at its core. Just about the only part I don't like is the hub area. It's bland in a way that makes the game difficult to replay and follow through to the end.

meu segundo jogo favorito do sonic

What an awesome concept for a game. And to top it all off, it’s well-made too. If you’re looking to celebrate 20 years of your franchise’s history, this is the way to do it. Both the 2D & 3D Sonic gameplay is high-octane & well-implemented, the mix of throwbacks & remixes in the soundtrack hit all the right notes & it’s simply a good time reliving highlights of a game series this way. I wasn’t a huge fan of the final boss, but that’d just be a nitpick at this point. Great game.

It's pretty good. The 2D Sonic physics are... okay. A little wonky. I don't know why it has been so hard for Sonic Team to nail the 2D physics.

Jogo maldito me fez virar fã da SEGA

Generations was an amazing experience, a celebration of what Sonic's all about.

Similar to Mania, I had a lot of fun exploring zones from the series' history. They retained their distinctive identities while also having fresh new spins put on them. It felt great to jump through them as Classic, and to rush through them as Modern. The controls were fluid, the mechanics were refined, and the action was a blast. From start to finish, I really enjoyed my time with the game, with not much dragging the experience down. I also enjoyed mixing and matching the special skills to build something that worked in my favour.

The side content in the game is much appreciated. The side missions give the game a lot of replayability and increase the amount of stuff to do by a lot. They were really cool, with my favourites being the ones that use Sonic's friends to completely reshape how you approach the levels. The museum showcasing 20 years of the series' history is a testament to how long-lasting the series has been, touching people across the world. And of course, the ability to play Sonic 1 on a whim is great as well. I think this game is a great hopping-on point.

Presentation goes a long way. I liked seeing the stages from earlier entries fully realised on newer technology, with the music, graphics and bosses just oozing with energy. The remixes of old tracks, and the re-imaginings of iconic bosses were just heavenly.

The plot of the game was very campy. It didn't try to do anything flashy, just give the player a good time and show off the lively cast of Sonic I've come to love. Some people would've preferred something grander, but to me, it's a nice little special, another page in Sonic's book.

I really don't have many criticisms for the game. I did feel that it retained some of Unleashed's jank regarding the camera and homing attack, but these seldom got in the way of me enjoying the game. Other than that, I just wish the game had more/harder bosses and maybe some handheld rep.

To summarise, Sonic Generations encompasses what I love about Sonic the Hedgehog, and is definitely one of my favourite entries thus far. 8/10.
