Oh my god, why didn't I play this before.
I'm pretty excited to see how much they'll add to the formula on the second game.
edit: well, I got pretty excited when I first played it, but...after a few hours I realise the gameplay loop just isn't interesting enough for a game of this kind unless you screw the game up with cheats, and even then it just feels gimmicky. And the only really fun class to play with is the hacker.

Bought this game on a whim one day when it was in Early Access and it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. While there's not much variety in missions, how you do them is where the gameplay loop becomes the most interesting. Depending on your class and the items you have changes entirely how you play the game and it feels very satisfying whenever you complete a run. Can't wait for the sequel to come out
At one point I was a Vampire and I had to hunt down a Werewolf on every floor as my personal quest. The Werewolf is hidden and I have to figure out who is it with my Vampire sense. I have identified the Werewolf and as it was not damaged it didn't aggro on me. It was a Red gang member. I've hired him for some money and sent him off on a suicide mission where he turned into a werewolf and died. Mission Successful!
Honestly, an excellent game especially with friends. You can do all kinds of wacky stuff. At one point we were rolling as triple zombies and it was mayhem. I can't recommend it enough!

This is a pretty unique roguelite, honestly it's a pretty unique game in general with all the interactivity and possible things that can happen between you, the environment, and the NPCs. Some of the classes really shake up the way you have to play, which is pretty cool. Combat isn't anything crazy, but it's still satisfying. I got my fill of this one pretty quick even with it being a very enjoyable experience. It almost feels more like a sort of test or stepping stone to something, and seeing that a sequel is coming and that it's more of an open-world thing that feels even more the case. I'm very much interested in the sequel and seeing how it shapes up, I feel like this whole concept will thrive much more there.
It's good, but I never want to play it. I never have that itch to return. A common gripe I have with the roguelike/lite genre is that all of the runs essentially feel the same, and the personalized abilities and quests of the characters is a great way to subvert this issue. For some reason though, I just don't ever want to keep playing and I'm always waiting for that super fun moment.
One of the cases when the presentation completely tanks whatever good ideas the creators might have had for the game. Sure, there are a lot of neat interactions with the world, but who cares when the world looks and sounds like it was cobbled together by a bored 12-year old in a week, and all the narrative and world-building elements hinge on "humor" from about the same age category. Also combat fucking sucks, just stupid pixel balls bouncing against each other with no dynamics, weight or reason.
this game goes so unbelievably hard (i have never made it past like world 3). i am extremely terrible at it but the variety of interactions on display here are incredible. this does mean sometimes you lose a good run to being randomly thrown into a gang war but it’s worth it for the sheer depth of mechanics on display.
