Besides this being an obvious marketing ploy for Fire Emblem Three Houses, I don't see anything super offensive about Byleth's inclusion. I get the funne meme about "oh great, anooooooother sword fighter Sakurai," but I feel like the inclusion of the other weapons makes Byleth feel different enough from other sword characters and even provides a cool representation of Fire Emblem's weapon triangle.

The stage and music are just okay in my opinion. I can't deny Three Houses' songs are pretty great but the lack of God Shattering Star is a real head scratcher considering its popularity within the community. The stage is one of my least favorites of the DLC packs. Taking place at Garreg Mach Monastery wasn't a surprise but I just find it so visually uninteresting and boring. This isn't helped by the fact that the background character models look significantly worse than they do in the original game. Overall it's a stage I rarely pick as it just isn't that appealing to look at.

Inclusion: I'm really glad that a chunk of my twitter friend group had FE fans because it made watching the reveal trailer way more enjoyable. I was laughing my ass off seeing that he was the final character of the pack, knowing that he'd cause an absolute meltdown all over social media. I think he's fine as an inclusion honestly, but I think not being at the end of a really strong pack of characters would've softened the blow of another FE character.

Fighter: As a fighter, Byleth grew on me a ton. Aside from someone much later down the line who became one of my mains, I think he's the DLC character that I've been playing the most. All of his moves have a really solid feeling of weight to them without feeling like an actual heavyweight fighter. My only complaint is with his up-b, which I think is sort of too good at locking on the edge when I want to attempt some wackier stuff you can do with it.

Stage: I appreciate the fact that this is a Fire Emblem stage that's an actual distinct location, when most of the past ones felt like generic nondescript fantasy arenas, even the one that was actually from Awakening. It also helped that I had a sort of attachment to the Monastery as someone who really enjoyed the game. That being said I don't really like playing on it. It's a mostly small transforming walk-off that has all of the worst traits of them. Maybe it would've benefited from having some bigger transformations, but not to the point of the bridge.

Music: A lot of the tracks sound really good but idk Three House's OST just kinda blends together for me. The remixes are the best songs in the pack, I don't have much to say.

I kinda like Byleth being here, he's really fun. (Also the male alt is easily better)
