La cantidad de horas que le meti a este juego en su momento fue brutal, super entretenido y divertido.

I have been playing sims 2 since it came out. I have many fond memories growing up playing the game and it never fails to amaze me how ahead of its time it was. Every expansion back and stuff pack was perfect. Oh to go back in time and play Sims 2 for the first time again

This was the last entry that series creator Will Wright had a hand in, and I can't
help but find that reflective of the franchise's current state with the 4th entry
and all the controversy that surrounded it...

The Sims was a clever idea most folks didn't know they wanted: a life simulator
born from a architecture simulation project. It exploded in popularity to become
one of the best selling PC franchises ever made. The 2nd installment brought the
series away from isometric sprites and into a 3d engine. This meant hi-fi visuals,
more expressive and detailed Sims, and a bigger playground with new features.

What does the 2nd installment do so great? A lot of things. The Sims themselves
became fully customizable, no two Sims will likely be identical. Doubly so because
now Sims actually age and with genetics implemented in, can have children with
their traits. Furthermore, they are a blast to see in action, so cartoony and
expressive in nearly all that they do. (Even if Simlish renders them near
unintelligible.) They now have wants, fears, and aspirations. Wants and fears
can change on a dime, adding a new strategic layer, while aspirations are more
set in stone and can lead to everlasting rewards. It's tougher than it looks to
give Sims the good life, or even a dramatic one, but it can be done and you'll
find yourself enjoying the little moments along the way. Sims can be complex
and have a variety of personalities and specialties. Sims is mechanically a
real-time strategy game married with a god game and that to me is it's biggest
strength design wise.

The game's sense of humor extends into simpler things like item descriptions
and notifications of in-game events. Also Sims can straight up die, sometimes
in funny ways. The game is truly unpredictable, you never know what wacky thing
or zany creature you'll uncover.

New building tools were added, including terrain editing. I've always viewed Sims as
the gold standard of building games, the tools are super convenient and varied.
You already have an ok number of styles and furniture and appliances and what not
with the base game, but it is absolutely mandatory to experience the ultimate collection,
or get all expansions. A ton new stuff to buy, clothes to wear, things for Sims to
learn, new mechanics mundane and wacky alike; sometimes you indulge in hobbies and
other times you learn magic spells. You can build vacation spots, hotels,
apartments, businesses, etc.

And of course Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO delivers a fantastic soundtrack that both
pays homage to the soundtrack of the original and stands out. Even the remixes from
certain expansions are a blast. Not to mention some goofy sound effects thrown in for
good measure.

I recall Will Wright's belief that games are toys, and this game proves that theory quite
well; it's nearly infinitely replayable and malleable with a ton of charm. The Sims 3 made
a fair share of gameplay improvements, but the sheer charm and feel-good nature of The Sims 2
has not yet been topped. I have to be in a certain mood to play it, but when I am I always have
a blast whether i'm building or guiding my Sims. Felt like I accomplished something when I
finally acquired the last stuff pack I needed.

My favorite game in the saga is The Sims 3 but there is something very special about this game ...

will forever be obsessed - sincerely, 8 year old myah

man i just wanna go back in time and play this once again

not even a mexican novela could compare to the drama i create in my family

The Sims 2 is hands down the best in the series. Many of the sims around you actually feel like they live a life outside of whenever you call them to hang out. There is also so much variety in what you can make your sims do. There is a large amount of objects that can improve your sims skills and interests. The wants and fears in this game are great and are way better than the ones in the Sims 4. Achieving a bunch of wants makes it so your sim is just never in a bad mood, with the platinum moodlet. You can also just make your sim completely miserable by constantly doing their fears, making them border on insanity. Whats awesome is the almost schizophrenic interactions that sims with low social and low aspiration can have. I encountered the social bunny once and was completely baffled on what was going on. Swapping between a sim with poor social/aspiration and a regular sim, you can see that only the latter sim can see and interact with these visions. Chance cards are also a great way to either earn loads of money, boost your career progress, or just completely ruin your sim's life. The graphics in this game are charming and still hold up better when compared to the Sims 3.

The best sims game hands down, i love how unhinged it is

this might be a weird game to put here but i am not kidding when i say that the sims 2 is peak video games. i have been playing the sims 2 in some capacity for nearly 2 decades and have always been able to find it fun and addicting! my favorite part of the sims 2 is the passing of time and genetics. i love playing premade sims and making stories with them, and then having them have children and continuing the story from there! eventually i get burnt out and stop playing the game for a long while but i don’t think i’ll ever truly be done with this game.
