"This game blows!"
Zip Lash is a generic 2D platformer with some interesting ideas. I liked the pressure of the battery timer and the cute, but admittedly distasteful, product placement. On the other hand, some of its ideas, like the randomized stage select, are so baffling that's it's hard to see how this game made it out of testing.

what the actual hell happened here? I’d be interested in the idea of a Chibi-Robo platformer but good lord this one of the most lack-luster and boring platformers that I have ever played. It’s the only game in the series that I actively dislike with a passion. Selecting a level via a roulette wheel is just annoying and tedious, I should just be able to pick a stage, not have to gamble and possibly replay a stage I’ve already done.
Just play any of the other ones, avoid this one and just buy the amiibo separate.

+ Bosses get progressively more interesting
+ Plug and cord make for a great weapon mechanic
+ Power-ups are pretty fun
~ Levels are long
~ Chibi Robo effectively leaves his roots
- Constant pop up dialogue ruins pacing
- Animations constantly get reused to seemingly extend game
- Toys are just selling products instead of being an actual character
- Roulette for levels makes no sense
- Can't actually skip levels
- Game doesn't tell you to save Moolah for final boss
- Game requires to replay every level AT LEAST twice to complete it
