This game is a certified hood classic, and the best of the series. The music alone makes this an instant 4/5, but the actual game is just as great so that's a bonus. I remember sinking countless hours and stayed up on many school nights to collect all the beans and puzzle pieces. Plus it felt so rewarding getting enough coins for the A-OK wear.
Bowser's Inside Story remains as one of my favorite Nintendo RPGs and the best entry in this series thanks to its excellent visuals, refined gameplay, and catchy score. The quirky writing and gameplay variety also doesn't get any better than this. By far, this remains as the most unique and well-executed iteration of the Mario and Luigi franchise.

Marking a true improvement, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story merges and applies the best aspects of the previous two titles (SSS' overworld and PiT's item attacks) while decorating gameplay with novel concepts that take full advantage of the DS' capabilities. However, the best moments are to be found in the large 'dungeons' - centered on alternating controls between the dual-screens, and the merry-go-round of minigames that simply improved on Super Star Saga's high points. These two elements, alongside the far more dynamic boss fights and special moves, result in what might be AlphaDream's finest effort. Supremely creative and entertaining.
