One of the most generic stories with no memorable environments. Great bosses though.

Logging this separately solely because this DLC is kind of insane in how good it is. It's everything incredible about the base game condensed into one small extra package with absolutely 0 low points to it, I'm baffled at the quality.

Not only is this one of the more solid Souls game DLCs, and not only was it the first in a long legacy of good DLCs in general, in 2012 it was one of the few good DLCs made by anyone. It was this and the stuff Bethesda makes and that was it.

Incredible DLC for an incredible game.
Not perfect but funny and solid, I loved Oolacile Township and the bosses offered by this DLC. A bit too short though.
Artorias is truly amazing.

Perfection, no amount of satisfaction can live up to the moment when I finally beat Artorias, Kalameet, and Manyss

Phenomenal lore, story, atmosphere, setting, bosses, and level design, but very tedious

This was a serviceable dlc, although not quite the Old Hunters. Artorias was a cool fight, while Kalameet was just a gigantic pain in the neck. it's cool that you can also meet a Hunter here.

it’s really between this and shivering isles for best DLC fuckin ever. the artorias fight is like a top 3 all time best video game boss and is, these days, the sole reason i come back to DS1

Contains the best bosses of dark souls 1, also has foreshadowing to bloodborne

The abyss is unstoppable, yet he suffers, so therefore I beat it.

Actual good level design and mostly good bosses? This is not Dark Souls 1. Also fuck Kalameet.

This DLC does something truly unique: one entire area of the game is recreated... into the past! I was seriously baffled when I saw this, it was amazing and extremely captivating to me.

The DLC also has three great bosses and they're FAST. Having such fast paced combat into this game was a nice unanticipated change and made for some tough challenge.

I didn't like some parts (the Sanctuary Guardian and how to access the DLC) but the good parts overshadow those.

when you think about it the best example of almost every ds1 aspect is found here that is wild

yeah i mean its great, it only approves on the main game, the bosses are so good and the lore and characters it adds are very good as well.

Never shoulda smoked that deeproot basin kush, now i'm at oolacile township

Ótima DLC.. tem o Artorias né, preciso nem falar mais nada

DLC dalla (forse troppo) breve durata ricco di elementi di lore interessanti e boss memorabili.

Bosses were okay. Royal Wood is one of those areas that are open and because of that, FromSoft feels the need to place 100 enemies around, making it """super fun""" to run through when running to the boss. Not a terrible DLC, just lacks a lot of what made DS1 so good.

6.5/10

nao gosto muito das áreas exploráveis pois prefiro servir ao crack do que à Darkroot Garden 2 MAS PUTA MERDA SÓ OS BOSSES DESSE NEGOCIO CARREGAM MT O ARTORIAS E O MANUS SAO UMAS DAS BOSS FIGHTS MAIS ABSURDAS DE FODA Q EU JA ENFRENTEI

Other than Artorias' fight. Pretty mid.

Yeah I can see why this is so beloved, easily some of the best bosses in the franchise to the point where you can feel its legacy throughout the From Soft universe. Artorias in particular is such a fantastic test of strength that I even had a very loud celebration upon beating him concluding with a fist bump to top it off. Needs to be mentioned that this DLC can be easily missed when playing through so make sure you go out of your way to actually experience it.
