this game is so much worse than s/h but atleast it had a better ending and cool characters, but worse gym leaders. team star being such a mediocre cringe storyline. at least the game is fun to play. graphics are ugly asf and looked like they didnt spend enough time to complete the game. good concept, poor execution.

i think i've completely given up on pokemon by now. the last one i finished was sun and moon, and i enjoyed it back then. on rare occasions i would get the itch to play a pokemon game again and play several romhacks, but at this point i feel i've grown tired of those too. there are romhacks that are genuinely good but at the end of the day they're still based on old pokemon games, and those have things you cannot change like the slow gameplay.
so i picked up scarlet and even modded it to my liking, making the game more challenging. fuck i even added shaders to make the game look a bit better since it's so ugly.
but it still kinda sucks... there's some things i liked, i thought the characters were entertaining, like nemona and the guy with the dog, and i think some of the new pokemon look really sick. the music's great too, there's some really good tunes here as usual with pokemon games.
another thing i really liked is how huge the variety of pokemon you can get is right at the beginning. the turn based combat is still slow though, which is weird when legends of arceus had a more fast paced combat. and unfortunately, even with the shaders i used, the game is still ugly as sin. i think i would've kept playing if it wasn't for that.
ALSO ONE THING THAT DRIVES ME INSANE IS HOW THEY REMOVED SET MODE? THEY EVEN REMOVED THE OPTION TO TURN OFF BATTLE ANIMATIONS, WHAT THE FUCK! THESE HAVE BEEN FEATURES SINCE THE FUCKING GAMEBOY!

I didn't have as much fun playing this game as Legends Arceus, but still a great Pokemon game. The massive world and the addition of 2 DLCs means there is a lot of things to do in this game that could give you hours of gameplay. However, the glitches and lower frame rates can make this game difficult to play at times. So, 4 stars.
Ugliest game of all time but incredibly solid Pokemon experience.

While I do prefer the overall experience of Legends: Arceus, I like the freedom of the open-world in this one more. I get that it feels somewhat like an unfinished beta test, but the ideas presented are really fun. I hope pokemon actually just take an extra year off between games, and actually listen to player feedback.

This game runs like a Sega Saturn game but it's ideas and expansions on the formula make it fairly fun if you can put up with it.

I don't understand how so many people like this game. I thought every character was so forgettable and there are like 4 pokemon that I thought were really cool and fun to use. This game is just so mid.
That boss in the Zero Zone was hella cool, but before that is one of the worst champion fights ever. Terastylizing is a good mechanic for competitive pokemon but not good at all for a casual playthrough. This is probably the most boring pokemon game just in front of Lets Go.

Again this feels like Game Freak is finally starting to step in the right direction, and this is by far their most impressive project in a while but it is still just more pokemon at the end of the day. Very few significant changes outside of the overworld being revamped, which I will say is a significant change.
