As an individual born in the 21st century who for some reason started coding in C in middle school because for some reason I bought those kind of video game programming tutorial books, you could literally say I took modern hardware for granted back when I was tinkering with trying to make my game ideas in that (at the time seemingly) limited space.

It’s with this that I say wow yeah this game owns especially for the constraints that made it exist, you can not only see the outline of games like Galaga, 1942, etc. but the game is actually somewhat fun and strategic and is only just 7K bytes like, think about that lol

Clássico arcade que acabou envelhecendo mal e se tornou um dos primeiros jogos de "navinha", que infelizmente acabou envelhecendo mal.

Nota: 6/10 (★★★) - Legal

I can’t stop thinking about the super rare rendition of this game on the Atari 2600 called Pepsi Invaders, where all the invaders are replaced with the letters in “Pepsi”. That shameless corporate cash grab was at least funny. Micro-transactions are just annoying and depressing.

This one definitely explained a lot about my taste in video games. Never mind "ball and paddle", the real joy of video games is shooting things. Retro shooters are the best genre of video game, and this is as retro as shooters get. I can't confirm that because I haven't played all the shooting arcade games but shooting in 1978 sounds pretty early to me. This one did genuinely hook me more than all the other arcade era games i've played so far though, probably the earliest game I could feasibly say I had a great time with. There was an addictive level of challenge that just doesn't come through the same for the others i've played, and that puts it a bit higher than the rest. Very fun, very much enjoyed it.

Another classic game that is not fun to play nowadays.

From the space wars and aliens craze of the late 70s, Space Invaders emerged. Probably the most iconic game of all time, if not the quintessential video game. Taito and Midway created this real money-making machine, so popular that it created a shortage of coins in the United States. The design of the aliens, their movements, and the beautiful sound design blend perfectly to create a legend in the world of video games.

Great for it's time, but not as fun nowadays.

I play the web version. I play it thanks to GMTK and since he said the difficulty of the game is basically the base of most games since then.

It's also nice to revisit them since I also made a fan made Space Invaders game in unreal engine and it's nice to see the differences. Mine is less beginner friendly since it immediately hit the player with fast paced experience while the original is more friendly and anyone can start it. Mine is basically Space Invaders with a spice of Doom in it
