I have no idea how Nintendo can ever surpass this game in quality when the next Smash rolls around. Reggie, you're FUCKED.
There are some small features I wish had made a return, but with how robust this one is, it's hard to really count those against it. Endless fighters with the spirit system(which fits in well thematically to the game's meta premise) and solid feeling arena fighting, a compelling story mode, lots of customization. It's hard to imagine a much better SSB than this. 2024 edit: I spent some of the vacation where I proposed to my wife playing this on a ship and I view that as a fond gaming memory
The game is good when you win, bad when you lose
It is the biggest compilation of video game representation ever made. Masahiro Sakurai is an absolute madman for what he managed to accomplish here. The sheer amount of characters, stages, music, everything is so insane to think about. This title has provided me and my friends with countless hours of fun, anger, just everything. My heart goes out to this title and I will always rate it nothing but perfection. Watching the Smash Bros reveal trailers is a thing of the past that I will always miss! Watching Sora and crying as he flew over the Smash Bros cast will always be special!!

One of the games I've put the most time into. While it has its issues, it largely remains the best Smash to play for a number of reasons. I'm not sure how they would ever top this game.

Probably the best smash game as a party game but damn if it doesn't feel like wading through wet porridge.

definitivamente tem todo mundo nesse jogo, o que é ótimo e eu amo.
o modo história que é o principal, é legal, tem um tempo bom, mas as vezes é extremamente maçante e quando estava na ''dungeon'' final eu queria morrer com o tanto de batalha que tinha pra chegar no chefe final, MAS ainda continua sendo muito bom e cada batalha AS VEZES vale a pena.
Depois que eu peguei o Link eu não joguei com outra coisa, e finalizei o jogo com o Link, Cloud e a Bayonetta (o que foi complicado pois ela é um boneco meio estranho pra luta contra chefe)
Enfim, valeu a pena e é gostosinho de jogar, mas n pretendo jogar o modo história novamente tão cedo.........

I finally beaten World of Light and let me just say that it was fun. Sure, it gets repetitive or frustrating to complete, but I love how they incorporated the Smash game into the story mode and I love the different spirits from different Nintendo games. I am guessing the reason why it is called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is because this is the ULTIMATE Smash Bros. game.

As a Smash fan I can confirm that I have never showered once in my entire gaming career.
If you told me 10 years ago from today that the next Smash Bros game would have Mario getting fucking murdered by Steve from Minecraft, while Solid Snake blows up Cloud Strife with a rocket launcher, Banjo and Kazooie shooting eggs at Joker from Persona 5, Bayonetta kicking the shit out of Sora with her heels, and Sephiroth getting jumped by Mii's dressed up as Cuphead, Sans from Undertale, Doom Slayer, Altaïr from Assassin's Creed, the Fallout vault dweller, Dovahkiin from Skyrim, and a Creeper, I would not believe you.
The best combination of all the smash games, a fantastic roster and an amazing way to end the series. I have over 700+ hours in this and will continue to come back to it.

Played only the campaign and I guess I’ve unlocked all the unlockable characters. Very fun game.
best platform fighter
No story mode (again), Evo wasn't as memorable, and it's whole gimmick was "everybody is here." Overall, this game just felt like Smash 4.5.
Finally a game where you can set the characters to both mini and bunny modes, resulting in the wholly unplayable mini bunny mode.
