This is FAR closer to what the post RE 4 era of RE should have become. Taking healthy cues and ideas from other contemporaries like The Last of Us, Alan Wake and Dead Space, it also makes efficient use of its co-op format, even with single player as well as in its reusing of maps and assets fitting into the story.

This game caught me off guard at first. It starts off really strong with the first two chapters. Yeah it is a little derivative of some other horror games, but it nails its characters and setting really well. Then you get to chapter 3 and it has some of the worst runtime padding I have ever seen in a game, and then chapter 4 just feels jumbled in terms of pacing. You get long puzzle, then short puzzle, then some combat, then an elaborate mansion call back, and yada yada, its slow as hell. The fact that one of the best stories in the franchise is locked behind this game is kinda sad. Raid mode is fun only for a bit until you realize that it is quite repetitive too. Great story, mid "TEW/TLOU" wannabe gameplay with a "splash" of RE, and horribly paced game. That said, it is one of the better spin-off games, would recommend one playthrough of this over a game like Op RC.
A 7/10 that you'll love like a 10/10. A co-op split screen adventure that made me go "remember when games used to be fun?" This game has a pointing mechanic and a flashlight that can reveal hidden items. You can also kick people down and beat the shit out of them once they've been stunned by the light. 50% RE action, 50% we have TLOU at home; 100% fun. And just a little bit of bullshit to keep you humble.
Uh I'm when I was playing the charcters with he actual weapons it was fun but yeah only played the first chapter dumbass thing why was every game back then obsessed with being episodic its so dumb but anyway yeah I didn't really care for the game after the first chapter so thank god that shit was free
