Psykio makes some of the best SCHMUP's. No gimmicky stuff is present like how they'd incorporate new concepts into their early 00s games like Dragon Blaze or Zero Gunner. Rather, it's all meat and potatoes. The levels are all good and randomized in the beginning which adds to the replayability. Each character has a memorable design and personality which leads to some quite humorous ending screens once the campaign is beaten. The main gist of the story is, bad guys want power of ancient relic, you beat them and get your wish granted. This game is simple which is exactly what it needed to be. Great art style, soundtrack, and gameplay makes this a phenomenal choice for a leisurely afternoon.
