A proper FF game in this setting would have gone crazy

This wasn't what I expected when I got this game. I wanted a Final Fantasy with predefined protagonists, a linear story to follow throught and jrpg mechanics like all the other cool kids!

In any case, this being a spin off, it's a almost flawless dungeon crawler. It's obviously designed around multiplayer gameplay in mind, and if you were lucky enough to at least have two Game Boy Advance, two Cable Links and a friend willing to play, it probably would have been a better experience. The amount of requierements to enjoy the multiplayer in this game was a bare faced cashgrab, but rest assured, the game is still enjoyable as a single player experience.

Is the most straight foward dungeon crawler out there, easy to pick up and play and have a great time. Using melee atacks and magic spells, plays almost like a standard beat'em up. There is still resource management and levelling up to do, since monsters get stronger as the game progresses. Each dungeon is a world of it's own, full of detail, unique enemies and bosses, and we will be excited with each new dungeon we discover and see what else new is there to see, but most of the time, the game plays the same, which can be tiring after playing for a while. Graphics are so elegant and clean, it feels like it heals your eyes just by looking, and the soundtrack is otherwordly beautiful.

The most beautiful dungeon crawler ever.
