my least favorite favorite game

Una de mis historias favoritas en los videojuegos

My first game in the souls series. Atmosphere is unmatched. The bosses are pretty good but nothing compared to 3. The map and areas are so meticulously designed the way it is just one massive jigsaw puzzle is insane. It also has the best side characters in Dark Souls. This game is amazing and if you want to get it to the games I would definitely say start with this one it eases you into the mechanics perfectly. 100% would recommend.

That moment when you take the elevator from Undead Parish to Firelink Shrine felt like coming back home after being gone for years. A strange warm feeling that can only be felt properly playing a videogame. Or in real life I guess but who cares about that. Truly opened my eyes as to what makes games special as a medium. Also uniquely suited to games is the satisfaction of overcoming what once seemed like imposible odds. Its not even a particularly hard boss but when I defeated the dragon in the sewers I knew, deep in my heart, that given enough effort I could defeat anything.
Is it strange that an apocalyptic dark fantasy setting feels me with such hope?
Certified indomitable human spirit moment.

Esse jogo é a porta de entrada pro sadomasoquismo não vou elaborar

who is the greatest boss in video game history and why is it bed of chaos?

Soul Level 1 Playthrough:

DS1 is a good game that I'm a little tired of, but the SL1 playthrough breathed a lot of life into it for me. Wish i did the dlc, but alas.

play the remaster actually its better

This is the last time I will ever touch a fromsoftware game
Sorry my fellas I'm filtered

No muchos se dan cuenta de que a partir de Ano Hondo el juego es un tostón

Revolutionary, but drops the second half

se tivessem feito o jogo seria bom

some of the best level design in a game. ornstein and smough is overrated

man this reminds me of that game, Demon Souls

um jogo perfeito ate a metade, depois de anor londo fica ok, e nem comento de lost izalith, puta lugar podre
mas mesmo com seus mini defeitos, tem um lugar especial no meu coração

A rough gem that introduced many into FromSoft games, me included. Its interconnected world was so unique in the series until Elden Ring.

i died to the taurus demon for like 3 days before he glitchedo ut and slid off the bridge to kill himself out of embarassment

A big improvement over Demon's Souls. Feels more like an adventure and arguably harder. The final boss isn't a pushover like before.

I played this when I was younger and it was an experience like none other. Did not finish it and may finish it at a later point.

Despite the second entry, this is still when FromSoft weren't afraid to experiment and get their hands on things. The experience is very different from Elden Ring

the improvements over demon's souls here are massive; they fixed the soul/human form mechanic to something that doesn't suck, estus flask>>>>>>grass heals, the interconnected world, cutting world tendency entirely... shit's great. still has some major tedious bs though like capra demon, bed of chaos, etc., the boss runbacks aren't genuinely miserable like in DeS but they're still boring and too long imo.

I struggle to find something that Dark Souls 1 is the best at.

Not gameplay, the character is locked in rolling 4 directions at a snail's pace. The bosses are for the most part extremely shallow and tedious, bar a few exceptions who would be average in a modern Souls game. The atmosphere, while nothing to scoff at, doesn't always keep the immersion up when you turn a corner and see 20 dinosaurs pasted in a line or 10 skeleton wheels rolling at you.

I feel like people sort of feel bad for Dark Souls and give it the consolation prize of "Best inter-connectivity...!". The falloff after Anor Londo is so noticeably bad that it should be studied.. oh wait it has. Look, I appreciate Dark Souls for being the catalyst for some of my favorite video games of all time, but the guy did not age that well. If another remaster/remake is to every be done, I hope that Fromsoftware actually tries to give their firstborn the quality that it deserves.

such a well thoughtout world, in the first half at least then it falls off, specifically with that goddamn tree.

Really on a different level then other soulsborne games. There is something so much more grounding and personal about this one.

aaaaaaaaaaaaa bed of chaos melhor boss desse jogo
