Usually I do just one sentence unfunny reviews, but since I got this key from the lovely duhnuhnuh's
Perpetual Steam Game Giveaway, I'll try to actually write a readable (?) text.

It's pretty rare for me to fancy a boomer shooter. As far as I recall, the only ones that I actually gave a shit about playing were the original Doom trilogy. My only reason for getting interested in this one in particular was the Szymanski name attached to it.

I expected a funny and short game about killing Goblins, and that's exactly what I got, with great gameplay and presentation. I cannot for the life of me tell what constitutes a well designed level in a boomer shooter, but I never felt claustrophobic or confused by any of the levels, and there was a great variety of themes and enemies, way more than I expected when I booted up the game. The Chop Goblins are clearly inspired by the Gremlins franchise, down to the comedic tone and tendency for unbridled chaos, and overall are just wacky little guys, there's not much to go wrong there.

One particular aspect I was surprised was by synthwave(?) inspired soundtrack of the game, having not a track in it that isn't a banger. To pair with that, the retro-inspired graphics, like most of David's games, are top notch.
