Cadillac & Dinossauros
O ano é 1993 e estamos a 1 ano do lançamento do classico filme Parque dos Dinossauros e 3 anos depois do lançamento do livro. Eis que a CAPCOM tem a brilhante idéia nesse meio tempo de adaptar a obra em quadrinhos de Mark Schultz chamada Xenozoic Tales lançada originalmente em 1986(ou seja a idéia de humanos e dinossauros interagindo nos dias '''modernos'' é anterior a Jurassic Park!). Basicamente a historia do game e dos quadrinhos acompanha um grupo de herois numa terra futurista(600 anos no futuro) na qual os dinossauros voltaram a povoar a Terra(não me perguntam como), esse grupo de herois tem uma oficina na qual restauram carros antigos(basicamente Cadillacs) e no meio tempo disso enfrentam todo tipo de supervilões distopicos como cientistas malucos(que é o caso do jogo), politicos, criminosos, etc...No jogo podemos controlar 4 personagens, cada um com seu ''poder'' especial mas que não diferem muito na gameplay de sair aplicando sopapos nos inimigos, o jogo é um beat 'n up bem basico com o velho ande pelo cenario distribuindo socos a torto e a direito e no final da fase enfrente um chefão. Oque se destaca mesmo nesse jogo são seus gráficos 16-bits bem bonitos pra época, os cenarios muito bem feitos e a trilha sonora muito boa, fazendo dele um dos mais belos Beat 'n Up da época, a atenção aos detalhes dos desenvolvedores é muito boa com inimigos literalmente explodindo ao levar tiros de bazuca ou granada se estiverem com pouca energia, a dificuldade é bem alta por se tratar de um arcade. Mas nem tudo são flores nesse jogo, uma coisa que deixa a desejar é a falta de variedade de inimigos, principalmente...dinossauros! Porra eles estão no nome e são importantes pra trama e mesmo assim enfrentamos apenas uma meia duzia de dinossauros durante o jogo(sem contar os hibridos de dinossauros e humanos), outra coisa que deixa a desejar é o vilão final que é bem cliche e não fede nem cheira. No geral como eu disse é um ótimo Beat n' Up, bem divertido de se jogar e com certeza recomendado para os fãs do gênero.

Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
The year is 1993, one year before the release of the classic film Jurassic Park and three years after the book's release. In the meantime, CAPCOM had the brilliant idea to adapt Mark Schultz's comic book series called Xenozoic Tales, originally released in 1986 (meaning the idea of humans and dinosaurs interacting in "modern" times predates Jurassic Park!). The basic story of the game and comics follows a group of heroes in a futuristic land (600 years in the future) where dinosaurs have repopulated the Earth (don’t ask me how). This group of heroes runs a workshop where they restore old cars (mainly Cadillacs) and, in the meantime, face all kinds of dystopian supervillains like mad scientists (as in the game), politicians, criminals, etc.
In the game, we can control four characters, each with their own "special" power, but they don’t differ much in gameplay as you just go around beating up enemies. The game is a very basic beat 'em up where you walk through the scenario, throwing punches left and right, and at the end of the level, you face a boss. What really stands out in this game are its very beautiful 16-bit graphics for the time, the very well-made scenarios, and the excellent soundtrack, making it one of the most beautiful beat 'em ups of the era. The developers' attention to detail is very good, with enemies literally exploding when hit by bazooka or grenade shots if they have low health. The difficulty is quite high, typical of an arcade game.
But not everything is perfect in this game. One thing that disappoints is the lack of variety in enemies, especially... dinosaurs! Damn, they are in the title and are important to the plot, yet we face only a handful of dinosaurs during the game (not counting the dinosaur-human hybrids). Another letdown is the final boss, who is quite cliché and neither here nor there. Overall, as I said, it’s a great beat 'em up, very fun to play, and definitely recommended for fans of the genre.
