it's not far cry 3 but it's fun

This game wasn't as good as Far Cry 3, but I definitely enjoyed it.

The coders coded, the designers designed, the writers wrote, the actors acted, and damn it, this was my first one this I-Phone ass game series and I still think it’s pretty good.

not bad just not very good

This is the first Far Cry I ever played to completion, and I am genuinely surprised at how great of a game this actually is despite it's reputation. My only prior experience to this series is watching my dad play the first 2. But this game has a lot going for it.

This may be because I'm not burnt out on the current far cry formula yet, but I actually really enjoyed going around liberating bases, and getting my gear up. It was nice in a mindless fun kind of way. I mainly went around using the stealth system, and sniping people with a silencer. It felt rewarding taking out an entire base without getting caught. There is also roaming enemies that drive trucks around you can spot on the mini map. And planting c4 in their path and watching them go by before triggering them, is a dopamine kick I never knew existed. There is genuine fun to be had with this system.

The story is also really good, and each character has something that really solidifies their role in the world that they are in. To put it more plainly, the characters feel like they can be actual people, and it's something that's actually a lot harder than you think to be able to write properly. Particularly Sabal and Amita, feel like they could of been real people. Truthfully if could of (and I learned that there is a way to do this later on) when it came to the golden path sections I wouldn't have picked either of them. But that's just what makes it so good. Without spoiling things: The nuance in what they fight for is supposed to convey that there isn't a right answer, only one that YOU think does the least amount of damage or what YOU think is right. It's two factions from the same side that don't see eye to eye, and it's what makes it feel like a well done conflict. Also, Pagan Min is a very well done antagonist. He had presence, aura, and to extent charisma. A good villain will always make you feel weight any time they appear on Screen. And Min did just that, with how he ran things and the atrocities he committed through out the game.

With how people talk about 5 and 6, and Ubisoft in general, I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. It has a lot of "nothing" moments to do in between main quest, but the pay off for going through it feels immense.

it aint as bad as people say bro

A deep game, and as good as 3, despite clearly just repeating the formula
