maybe I been too hard on Shenmue combat
this is a 1999 game definitely aimed at a young boy demographic with big buff man fighting each other and with guns and stuff and barely any substance to any of it I mean the main character that one hair cut if you saw a kind in real life wearing back then you immediately knew they were a giant piece of shit, very of its time and has not aged well at all some of the level design its just so boring and it goes on and they all look the same its funny people complain about like cod era hallway shooters but man this era so much worse in that regard and the combat is so sluggish and utterly imbalanced to an almost realistic level? like guns do so much more damage than punching someone which you know makes sense but doesn't really help sell the idea of playing this super soldier type dude progression is also like so random sometimes you gotta find keys other times you gotta break something its one of those things where if you were a kid you could probably beat this game just about it randomly but as an adult it's rather frustrating.
this is really a game to be cherished by those who grew up with it and most likely forgotten by everyone else.
