Notch really revitalized the crafting genre with this game, made it fun to build shit and I remember as a teenager watching my friends make houses in Minecraft and elaborate tunnels underneath their house in search of gold and diamonds. Hours upon hours upon hours spent overnight listening to light ambient music. So beautiful.

Of course, survival mode adds a level of difficulty as you must preserve and protect against enemies that come at you as the night grows, and they get tougher as the days pass.

Of course, Microsoft buying it out meant that there is a team behind it now that ensured it would be multiplatform, no longer requiring Java to enjoy the game, etc. I was never the type to make scale models of towns, mansions, or possess the autism necessary to develop a calculator, much less a CPU, but to know it’s possible to make in this video game is just really cool.

New update: hellow everyone, Mojang here. We're going to update videogame Minecraft to have more use for villager character in videogame. For so long, village feel like nothing but now it feel like something with new job for villager. What is the new job? It is a person who sell bottle. Bottle is new block added in game. place down to contain water like cauldron but also see inside it like glass. You can put fish and other into bottle. Name of villager is "Bottle Man." We can't wait for you to try it out. Hapy crafting!

Vanilla Minecraft itself is not particularly crazy in this day an age but a common theme with games like this is that the community really gives such an unending plethora of content to explore it's as if it were a game engine in itself. Building and redstone aswell as its modding potential seems to be really impressive parts of the game whereas the survival and pvp aspects of the game seem to be really basic in comparison. On the other hand the soundtrack is in a league of its only rivalled by a few other games for me.

I’ve been playing Minecraft for 11 years. I’ve had Pocket Edition, 4 different console versions, and Bedrock edition. I finally have a laptop that probably won’t die when trying to run this game. But trying to get Java is extremely stupid. You have to pay double the price by getting Java with Bedrock for Computers. If you already own Bedrock on console, you still have to pay for the PC version. Also Bedrock doesn’t even run on Apple computers so I would essentially be paying an extra £13 for a version I can’t play. Luckily everything is 50% off for the games’ anniversary so I can actually buy Java for the price it’s supposed to be. Just wanted to say fuck you Microsoft I’m playing Beta now. 10/10 must play
