The core concept is neat, with the suite of electromagnetic tools you acquire on the adventure leading to some interesting puzzles. Unfortunately, the incredibly wonky physics system implemented leads to unfair difficulty spikes, painful backtracking and unsatisfying boss encounters.

The visual uplift is appreciated, though perhaps it would have been wise to touch up the gameplay a little with this remaster.

Went back and played the remaster of the first game before jumping into the sequel. Fun metroidvania with some cool puzzles and abilities. The remaster really pops on the OLED!

Was having a lot of fun, but then I got to the tree section and the pacing grinded to a halt. Then my save file got corrupted :(

May return one day, but for now mostly disheartened and not about to play all that again.
