"Welcome to my world."
Yeah, it's a button-mashy arcade beat-'em-up designed to eat your quarters, alright. At least the art is pretty good for the time, and the game has the retroactive novelty of being based on the very, very early days of the TV show. With team-up moves, special items, and so on, it's got most of the stuff you could want in this era of beat-'em-up, but it's a kind of game design that doesn't really click with me. Fun to play with friends, at least.

Got surprised with a Simpsons 1up arcade recently. Got to play through this with a friend. This game is wildly creative and has a soundtrack that rings in my mind constantly (thanks to the Talking Simpsons Podcast)
The 1Up arcade is pretty good! I've played this on an original cabinet too, and the 1Up arcade does a good job capturing that energy.

This is one of the most famous Arcade video games ever made. The Simpsons is a weird series to turn into a Beat 'em-up but it worked well. This game is extremely difficult and the graphics aren't the best this era had to offer but the abundance of Simpsons reference and the fact that this game exists at all makes it worth checking out.
Super beloved, beat 'em up, that's just alright. The first two levels were super fun and had a couple of interesting situations, but by the third level, it started feeling redundant, despite taking place in a cemetary of all palces.
Gameplay-wise, it's as simple as it gets: straight forward, no special moves or original gimmicks to spice things up.
The battle against Smithers was cool, but the one against Mr. Burns really drags on for too long.
It's in its visuals and sound where this game excels, though; it's absolutely top-notch, especially for 1991.
