dude some of these story sections and characters are such a highlight of the series but as a game this just is one of the most frustrating things ive played

this game is definitely worth playing but the first fifth of the game is boring as hell, the second fifth is decent, but it thankfully gets interesting from the third fifth and onwards

My love came all over this game.

4 and 5 are consistently better and more enjoyable, but the final stretch of P3 blows both of those games out of the water. P5 third semester comes somewhat close, but it felt anticlimactic after the final boss. I'm also a huge fan of the moody and edgy atmosphere

So dense and immersive with great music, an addictive battle system, some light dating sim elements and a dark, creepy atmosphere with a mysterious story.

i need them to remake this fucking game

Persona 3 is a wonderful game. It was the first game in the series to use the modern persona formula, and it is a formula that has worked extremely well for these games. I only got about halfway through the game before shelving it however, I didn't really shelve it out of a lack of quality, but instead playing the series in a reverse order can make it hard to appreciate the start of the formula when it has quite a few errors that are hard to look past. The current problem with Persona 3 is that there are 2 main versions, FES and Portable, that each has their own major pros and cons, and because of this, it's hard to feel like you're playing the right version. Thankfully this will hopefully be rectified by the rumored and leaked remake that can hopefully stand as a mostly definitive version of this game fixing this game's biggest flaw.

While I did mostly just talk about my issue with the game I want to make it clear I love what this game has to offer it's just hard to enjoy in this current form, I especially like the setup and the story going on in this game. I hope that with the release of this remake, I feel compelled to fully play the game and give my true thoughts on it, but until then I'll have to leave it as is, I don't want to try and recommit to it and then have the seemingly definitive version be announced while playing it.

oyunu 8 defa bitirecektim sonra remake leaklendi

Easily one of my favorite games I've ever played. Story, Characters, soundtrack, gameplay, and even the finale were all great and I have a soft spot for it. Admittedly It does show its age in certain areas but I can mostly look past it as I still look back on it fondly even now.

If they do plan on remaking this game they better just completely rework everything because what is here doesn't work at all

The good:

Themes: The overall theme of this game is strong. The acceptance of what you cannot control, the meaning of life and death, how forming bonds with others gives meaning to life and so much more. The message here is very good, it's a shame it's mostly rushed.

Music: While I would recommend installing a music mod for more variety in battle. The ost here is an absolute banger like every Persona game.

Persona System: The whole fusion system is surprisingly fun. Though it can be a bit annoying when doing some of Elizabeth's ability specific fusion missions.

Social Links / characters: It's the heart of the game. Some are stronger than others. Akinari and Aigis are the best. Some characters get great arcs, some get absolutely nothing.

The bad:

The pacing: I did not enjoy this game, or rather, I enjoyed the last 10 - 20 hours. 80% of this game is nothing, it does literally nothing but keep you busy with a poorly done school sim. Pacing is a huge issue in this game, so much of it is wasted to the point that the entire story is literally told within the last 3 months of the game. Because of this things feel very rushed, characters aren't given the time to properly connect in the way the game wants you to feel they are.

Tartarus: Lets be real if you enjoy this something is wired wrong in your brain. 200+ floors of the same thing over and over again.

The Answer: Doesn't need to exist.

Advice:

Mod the shit out of this game.
Party control. Music variety. HD rework. Character voice lines. New Moon Balance Patch. And anything else you may want.
There is zero point in playing the vanilla version of this game. It's not fun. I played this game at x4 and x6 speeds I couldn't imagine playing it normally, I most likely would've dropped it and not for its length but rather how it does nothing meaningful with the majority of its length.

If this game is truly getting a remake it needs to be COMPLETELY reworked from the ground up. Because while the game has some good things about it, those things are done better elsewhere and where it gets things wrong it gets them insanely wrong.

This isn't just a 'product of the time' this was a mess of a game on launch, Atlus had already made better in previous games and other franchises had already tackled its themes better.

Best ending ever

The atmosphere built by this game in its second half is absolutely unreal and has really yet to be matched by any other game I've played. The story in this game, while it may seem kinda dumb during the first few hours, is probably my all time favourite in any game I have ever played. It's a shame the unmodded gameplay is so annoying and tedious but if the rumored remaster fixes that while still retaining all the aspects that made the original the landmark in the RPG genre that it is then it will likely be my new favourite game.

suffering in tartarus was ultimately worth it,the story was great

persona game it's hot it's fashionable even now that it's on the mainstream
anyways i get this being one of the fan faves still like 4 more

finished the journey and the answer

much more effective than melatonin!

My favorite story in any videogame ever, but i know that the gameplay is really frustrating and i wish with a remake that could be fixed so that it can become even better

As of writing this it may be a bit too soon to make the call of this being my fav Persona (especially because I fully expect the 2 duology to hog that mantle), this game has definitely touched my soul in a way 4&5 didn't (granted those two are special for me in other ways).

Between the casts I definitely think I'll miss the SEES group the most. That ending theme paired with everything going on really drove that home for me.

One thing is for certain though, I absolutely did not see myself spending 80+ hours playing through an NGE social sim.

Thank you Atlus, this game will probably hold its own spot in my psyche for the foreseeable future.

will do a real review one day but this changed my life

Of the Persona games I've played, Persona 3 has the best narrative and soundtrack. I truly love the characters, and some of my favorites are in this game. Mitsuru, Junpei, and Akihiko, I love you guys. My biggest complaint about this game is the AI for ally combat, but this can be resolved with mods. Additionally, Tartarus can become repetitive and boring after a while.
