phoenix wright: ace attorney

PHENOMENAL introduction to a series that's been hyped up to me for years on end. the first four trials are really enjoyable and the characters are super fun to spend time with, but i found myself loving the fifth trial the most. i got near emotional with the endings of the fourth and fifth trial and it left me hopeful for what's ahead of me in the series

A perfect and easily accessible collection of 3 of the great games of all time. The first (PW:AT) and the third (PW:AT TAT) are must plays, the second one (PW:AT JFA) is also good but overshadowed by the others. While you'll sometimes need to refer to a guide to continue in more complicated areas, that is my only major problem with the games. And it by far makes up in its unique and gripping storys, its stellar soundtrack and its amazing characters (the third game having my favourite antagonist in all of media i have experianced in my lifetime).

Bom, vamos falar hoje de um jogo que recentemente eu joguei devido a ele ter entrado no GamePass, é um joguinho que eu sinceramente sempre quis jogar. Porém, sempre quando pensei em jogar, ele estava sempre em um preço não muito acessível na época. Hoje vamos falar de Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Então, sem mais delongas, bora.

Bom, a gente já vai começar essa nossa análise já falando que a gente vai fazer essa análise nesse formato mais recente que a gente tem feito, que é um pouco mais voltado à minha opinião sobre o game e seus pontos. E como aqui a gente tá falando de um game que é um remaster de três jogos antigos de uma franquia de muito sucesso da Capcom, apesar de aqui em nosso pais não ser tanto sucesso. E isso se deve não somente pelo fato do game ser um pouco diferente na sua gameplay, mas também falando do fato do game não ter nenhum tipo de port para nosso idioma, nem mesmo nesse remaster que é o mínimo do mínimo que a gente espera quando a gente tá falando de um relançamento de um game antigo.

Tirando isso um pouco de lado, afinal eu consigo jogar e entender perfeitamente o inglês, Ace Attorney Trilogy é um game um tanto quanto inusitado pra muita gente que vai pegar ele pela primeira vez. Afinal, ele se trata de um game light novel produzido pela nossa querida Capcom, onde você basicamente é um advogado de defesa e deve proteger seu cliente que quase na maioria das vezes é suspeito de algum assassinato. Esse jogo fez muito sucesso, principalmente entre a rapaziada que tinha portáteis da Nintendo na época, que foi onde de fato ele se consagrou. E ele por muito tempo foi um jogo que ficou muito preso ao Japão e EUA, principalmente falando de Japão. E quando teve esse relançamento para novos consoles, foi uma baita oportunidade de pessoas como eu, por exemplo, conseguir jogar ele em suas devidas plataformas.

Vale lembrar, galera, que eu nem sempre me interessei por esse tipo de jogo. Eu comecei a gostar bastante desse estilo novel graças a jogos como "Danganronpa", "The Nonary Games", "AI: The Somnium Files", etc., que são jogos que, grande maioria deles, tem sua própria identidade e características. Porém, é nítido que esses games bebem bastante de Ace Attorney, principalmente pelo fato do game ter sido lançado inicialmente lá em 2001.

Falando um pouquinho sobre o nosso game em questão, é nítido que, como o game é um remaster, muita coisa, principalmente falando das imagens de fundo que basicamente é o que constrói o game como um todo, né? Afinal, tudo basicamente são imagens nesse game. Elas, antes por ser um game de um console portátil, tinham uma resolução muito baixa, e aqui, obviamente, foram substituídas por ilustrações com muito mais qualidade.

O jogo basicamente é, como dito anteriormente, uma coletânea com três jogos, sendo cada um deles composto de 4 a 5 capítulos cada. Cada capítulo é representado por um caso diferente e é dividido em duas mecânicas fundamentais da gameplay: a investigação e o julgamento, algo muito similar a Danganronpa, só que, claro, muito mais pé no chão.

Seguindo nessa mesma linha, na trama controlamos Phoenix Wright, que é um advogado recém-formado e que tá aí tentando crescer na profissão e defender seus clientes de falsas acusações. O game, apesar de ser 3 games, tudo aquilo que foi apresentado no primeiro jogo e no primeiro caso basicamente segue a mesma base para todos os casos e em todos os jogos. Então, você com Phoenix deve investigar assassinatos, encontrar evidências relevantes e deve assim encontrar contradições das testemunhas diante os casos de cada capítulo.

Uma coisa que já meio óbvia pra quem começa a jogar esse game é como ele parece ser um anime em sua história. Afinal, a gente tá falando de uma obra japonesa, então grande maioria das vezes ela puxa muito pra esse lado, e isso pra mim fica muito nítido quando a gente fala da comédia presente no game, que é bem frequente em diversos casos, e muita gente numa primeira jogada pode até estranhar se não tiver acostumado com esse formato meio anime. Porém, o game, apesar de ter uma certa pitada de comédia, ele é muito bom em vários sentidos e acaba meio que sendo uma mistureba entre cenas de comédia, suspense, reviravolta e tensão. Isso também sem falar dos personagens que estão a sua volta, que são muito bem feitos e certamente dão um tom muito legal ao game.

Graficamente falando, o game não é bem um jogo com um engine própria e tudo mais. Ele é o que basicamente vocês estão vendo aí na gameplay de fundo, são imagens com diálogos passando na parte de baixo dos personagens, como se fossem as falas de cada um deles, como toda e qualquer novel basicamente é, né? Essa é a proposta do game e pra quem curte, obviamente não tem nem sequer o que reclamar disso. Afinal, como dito antes, se você jogar um comparativo das primeiras versões lá do início dos anos 2000, vocês vão ver uma melhora gráfica gigantesca.

Sobre nossa parte de áudio, para muitas pessoas que jogam essa aqui é a cereja do bolo de Ace Attorney, até porque os gráficos eles não se destacam tanto a tudo que a gente tem hoje em dia. A história, apesar de ser maravilhosa, também segue a mesma linha, porém, em contraparte na nossa parte de áudio, ela basicamente é a alma de Ace Attorney.

Principalmente quando a gente fala de efeitos sonoros como, por exemplo, o clássico "OBJECTION!" ou "TAKE THIS!" que dificilmente vocês aí que gostam de video game não vão ter visto alguma imagem, meme e etc. como essas frases icônicas desse jogo. Sem falar, claro, das nossas OSTs que combinam perfeitamente para cada situação que você tá passando no game.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy é um baita jogo que me rendeu por volta de mais ou menos aí 50 horas de gameplay. Ele é um game que, apesar de ser muito bom em diversos sentidos, existem alguns fatores, falando principalmente de nós brasileiros, que vão afastar grande maioria do público. Como eu sempre digo em vídeos de análises de jogos como esse, ele não é um gênero que agrade todo mundo, principalmente porque a gente não está habituado com esse tipo de jogo, apesar de hoje em dia sim, ter bastante gente que joga de boas, ainda é muito pouco. E segundo o fator que mais ajuda as pessoas se afastarem dele é o fato de não ter legendas em PT-BR. Então, por ser um jogo que tem um ritmo mais devagar, por ser um jogo que tem bastante diálogo, é natural qualquer um que não entenda inglês se afastar dele. Mas se você nunca jogou Ace Attorney antes e tem interesse por esse tipo de jogo, certamente é uma baita oportunidade pra você essa trilogia.

This is probably the best collection of these game you're going to find, and it's definitely the most accessible way to play these game right now.

The games have been redesigned to work on a single screen and many quality of life features have been implemented to make the game a smoother experience, such as multiple save files with easy saving and loading, a segmented penalty bar that indicates more exactly how much life you have left, and an indicator that tells you if you have already examined an area of a location (which was greatly appreciated). I originally wondered if removing the dual screen interface from the DS games would've made the experience worse, but I found myself not missing it all that much due to how snappy the UI is.

The biggest controversy surrounding this collection is the look of this game. Capcom has done away with the pixel art look of the previous version and have redrawn all the art in this game, presumably to make the game look cleaner and sharper on HD/4k televisions. The result is that the game definitely looks nice on a bigger TV, but it might disappoint fans who miss the charm that comes from the original pixel art.

For what it's worth, as someone who played previous versions of these games, while I did miss the old pixel art, I was able to adjust to the new style pretty quickly and was even able to appreciate the the new redrawn art for how sharp and clean it looked. I found that it didn't take away any charm from the original versions and was miles better than some flash remakes I've seen from some other games like the older final fantasy remakes (Not the Pixel Remasters, those look great).

On the bright side, there have been improvements made to the visuals in this collection. One complaint from previous collections of this trilogy was that there would be missing frames for certain animations which would make them look rather choppy. Thankfully, Capcom has fixed this issue and the games look much better for it.

While it makes some artistic decisions that might be seen as controversial to some, I think that this is a high quality collection that brings a lot of great QoL features and retains the spirit and charm of the original games. You really can't go wrong with this one.

A compilation of the first three Ace Attorney games in remastered HD and full screen support. No fancy bells or whistles but still an excellent way to experiance the games. I've played these three titles many times. This version of the game I played sporadically over a year or two playing case by case whenever I had free time inbetween new games whenever I felt like it. Finally replayed this collection to completion on this date. Still find all three titles excellent and one of the most satisfying trilogies in gaming. Full package at a great price. Can't go wrong.

Ace Attorney is gold. Yes, the entire franchise is gold. I know I'm only discussing the first three here, but that does not matter. I'll say it again when I log the DGS duology and when I log the Apollo Trilogy. Ace Attorney does not miss, even if it kind of does sometimes.

The gameplay of Ace Attorney is honestly its story. Ace Attorney is a visual novel, so most of your gameplay is selecting options and pressing your dialogue button to continue. Yes, you have to pick the right option, but you're largely still picking options for the most part. If you don't like visual novels though...do play this one. It's so good.

Before I continue, I'm dedicating a paragraph to Dick Gumshoe, one of the best characters in this franchise. He should either come back or get his own games. Look, I'm not saying Capcom was dumb when they didn't bring him back after T&T, but they are dumb for not bringing him back after T&T. Capcom really fumbled the bag.

The story was not a fumble, and it can't be. It's all you'll be interacting with. I'm happy to report that every part of the three games included is good (save for a few cases, but every game has at least one dud). The story is charming, funny, and kind of real sometimes. The characters are actually people (keep this in mind when I discuss the next 3 games in the main series).

Ace Attorney truly proves that love wins, except if you're Larry Butz. Honestly, you just don't win if you're Larry Butz. The moral of the story is do not be Larry Butz. Anyway, this is a fantastic collection of the gay lawyer video games. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this.

I did not expect to feel the feelings that i felt when i first saw detective gumshoe
