I can't tell you how hooked I am to this game. Armored Core 6 solves one of my biggest problem with past From games - the feeling of being "locked in" to an inferior build. Like, I love playing Dex builds in Dark Souls but sometimes I'll talk to friends or see magic or faith builds online and when I get stuck on a boss, it feels like I'm playing the game wrong. By focusing on modularity in mech builds, AC6 avoids that entirely. Over the course of the game, my build varied wildly between close range brawler, to death-from-above high flyer, to impact stacking demolition. When I got stuck on a boss here, I wouldn't feel stuck, but rather, I would look at my parts and rebuild to better suit the situation. I absolutely love that you can change your assembly mid-mission, it invites you to approach the challenge as more of a puzzle than anything else. The modularity in some ways reminds me of God Hand - not just because I recently played (maybe partially) - the build your own playstyle makes the gameplay feel so much more open and accessible. Paired with replayable linear mission-based levels, it brings a focused experience that feels so refreshing in the age of huge open worlds.

Currently just finished NG+ and will work through NG++ soon - the post-game stuff here is super fun.
