Once made to be the end of the Pokemon series, Pokemon Gold & Silver are incredible follow ups to the beloved Pokemon Red & Blue. Set a new region with new starter Pokemon, more new Pokemon to add to your team, old Pokemon with new evolutions, baby forms and more Pokemon Gold & Silver add many new changes to the gameplay. From a day and night cycle to encounter different types of Pokemon to new types it feels very fresh. The main adventure isn't quite as engaging as Pokemon Red & Blue with Team Rocket not being as sinister in these games but taking on new gyms and exploring a new region is just as fun as it was before. The most insane part however is how after defeating the champion you can go back and visit the entirety of Kanto in the post game to see how it has changed over the years. Rebattling familiar gym leaders, trainers and more with stronger Pokemon all leading up to the finale with Red makes these games just amazing follow-ups to Pokemon Red & Blue.
