Once made to be the end of the Pokemon series, Pokemon Gold & Silver are incredible follow ups to the beloved Pokemon Red & Blue. Set a new region with new starter Pokemon, more new Pokemon to add to your team, old Pokemon with new evolutions, baby forms and more Pokemon Gold & Silver add many new changes to the gameplay. From a day and night cycle to encounter different types of Pokemon to new types it feels very fresh. The main adventure isn't quite as engaging as Pokemon Red & Blue with Team Rocket not being as sinister in these games but taking on new gyms and exploring a new region is just as fun as it was before. The most insane part however is how after defeating the champion you can go back and visit the entirety of Kanto in the post game to see how it has changed over the years. Rebattling familiar gym leaders, trainers and more with stronger Pokemon all leading up to the finale with Red makes these games just amazing follow-ups to Pokemon Red & Blue.

The game that started it all. Pokemon Red & Blue are the foundation of the Pokemon franchise no matter how much people may dislike Kanto. As the first ever games on a GameBoy the games were done very well. From a roster of 151 pokemon all with different types and moves there's a lot of customizability for the team you want to craft. The story isn't anything to write home about but is a fun adventure of taking down an evil organization using Pokemon as tools for business. Even for the GameBoy the soundtrack being 8 bit is still able to have many memorable melodies composed. There are a few inconveniences that make it hard to play the game nowadays like no move deleter and HM moves being permanent but the game is still enjoyable.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is considered to be one of the best video games ever created and even years and years later it continues to satisfy players with how exceptionally made it is. As Zelda’s first entry into a 3D game Ocarina of Time manages to have an interesting story premise to keep you playing but the real fun comes from its gameplay. Using the Ocarina of Time Link is able to travel through time from his childhood and being an adult. Characters from his childhood will be older and more useful as an adult and there are aspects where only Young Link is able to be successful that Adult Link cannot do. It’s an extremely creative gameplay idea that makes the adventure so much fun as you are traveling through the past and future to change different elements while overall making progress bit by bit to tackle the temples and defeat Ganondorf. The temples have incredible dungeon layouts with so many creative puzzles that really make you think to figure them out followed by some invigorating boss fights at the end. Not to mention the soundtrack is amazing with themes you will be able to recognize in many places after having heard them once. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time will continue to go down in history as one of the pinnacles of video games and impress many more generations as they experience its magic for the first time.
