Bio
This serves as a public list of games and visual novels that I plan to analyze on my Youtube channel.

Some important things to note:
-One title per series in the backlog. If a game is on the list, treat it as the entire series being on there. This is to avoid excess clutter in the list.
-The backlog is in no particular order
-More titles will be added as I think of them and as I receive good suggestions.
-This is only a list of games/VNs that may/will get videos in the future. Casual/stream games are not included
-A title being on the backlog does not constitute a promise that it will get a video, only that I'm considering it

Decent short visual novel. I really like the art, music, and what the story was going for. I do feel like it's a bit too short and certain things really should've been explored a bit more. Also, the English translation is not the best.

Still, it's dirt cheap so it gets my recommendation. For more info watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-CpyMEbQIQ

Easily the best gameplay of Rance's retro timeline and my favorite pre-2000 grand strategy game. Rance becomes king of Leazas and he strives to take over the world. Surprisingly solid core gameplay loop (the retro games often weren't great in that regard) with a ton of secrets to find.

The downsides are that there are a lot of ways to screw yourself over that you can't realistically figure out beforehand. Like, taking certain cities will trigger flags that send more powerful enemies after you with nothing in-game telling you about it beforehand. Also, the writing suffers since the developers had to speedrun the plot before they were really ready to (thankfully they managed to eventually get the series wrapped up properly).

Still a fun game. For a more detailed look, check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8SN8uVf1sk

I genuinely love this game, but it has some pretty significant drawbacks. The combat system is highly unique for a turn-based JRPG and it heavily leans into status effects and stat buffs/debuffs. The story is also pretty solid with a good blend of comedy alongside a serious story about a group of friends trying to save the world.

Where it falters is that it takes a long time to really show its potential. The combat system doesn't really start to get good until you're like a dozen hours in. The UI also has some significant issues. It can be tough to know what the status icons mean and the upgradeable hub has some of the messiest menus I've ever seen in an RPGMaker game. Also, the writing has a few weak points with the third act of the main story containing a lot of filler content. Also, many of the optional H scenes are literal copy/pastes of one another with even the art just being a differently colored version of a different H scene.

It has my recommendation, but you've gotta power through the early sections and just endure the rough bits. For a more detailed look at the game, check out this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9KA9S4hi_Y
