Even more mediocre than Forces somehow. I bought this game when it came out at the height of my Sonic fanboy phase and I played it for like an hour and pretty much immediately forgot it even existed afterwards. To this day the only reasons I ever remember this happened are the stage in Super Smash Bros and SEGA’s continued insistence on forcing Zavok in everything for some reason

I was never able to get into 2D Sonic as a kid because of how much they frustrated me at the time, so I wasn’t expecting to get into this, but lo and behold it really does deserve the hype Sonic fans heap on it. This and Generations are easily the best Sonic games of the last decade. (Though the fact that both rely so much on nostalgia is probably telling about the state this franchise is in creatively)
At this point they should just let the fans make all the games.

Does what it says on the tin, nothing more or less. A solid but average in just about every way kart racer. There’s no reason to pick this up unless you just REALLY want to play Blaze the Cat in a kart racer. Which admittedly, I did, so at least the game justified the cheap price I got it for with a few hours of amusing the former Sonic fanboy in me
