So far, this game feels like it's from a timewarp PS3 from 2012. It's a janky, so bad it's good dialogue game, akin to Deadly Premonition. If you like weird games that have a vibe of "we're doing this thing just to do it", this game is for you. It is by no means an excellent game, just one that is quirky and random.

At the end of the day this is a game where you'll either "get it" or you won't. The developers have been nothing but open about how their entire goals was to emulate that old-school PS2 era in every way possible, EVEN the outdated flaws from back then. From the amateur voice acting being done by the devs themselves to the brutally hard difficulty with limited checkpoints, the batshit crazy b-movie plotline and unpolished rough around the edges gameplay. Some people will understand that the game was made with all of this intentionally included to add more charm to it and truly capture that era and most others will whine because it isn't modernized and has no quality of life improvements we're used to. Simple as that.

Plus considering the director himself even said how much he values creativity and back when devs would just put out products because it was something they were passionate about and wanted to do despite knowing not everyone would enjoy it that's exactly what this game is doing and I for one appreciate that.
