Hiya. I'm a musician who also spends waaayyy too much time playing video games. I mainly focus on Nintendo and indie games, but I do dabble in other triple A titles if they pique my interest.

I really want to love this game. On paper, it has everything: great soundtrack, amazing art, a nice story, the works. But, playing through it, I just found myself feeling nothing but frustration and disappointment.
The first few chapters are great, but as the difficulty quickly ramps up, some of the issues with the controls make things much harder than they should be. The ability to only dash in one of eight cardinal directions works fine on paper, but in a game as precise as this one, it really doesn't. Not just to mention that this system has caused me to die way too much from not dashing in the direction i actually wanted to go.
While I do appreciate the variety in all the level specific gimmicks this game has to offer, I don't appreciate how stale the platforming can get over time. A lot of the puzzles boil down to the same trial and error, or can just be solved in the same ways that many others can.
I might end up revisiting and finishing this game in the future, but I do not have the desire to play it. I haven't finished it yet, but a lot of the gameplay makes me feel as if I've seen it all.
