Games Definitely Made by Gamers

you can just tell sometimes
im gonna sound negative a lot of the time, so i'll just say here this isnt necessarily a bad thing but it certainly is a thing.
i dont even dislike most of the games here

no fangames/successors/online web game vibes because that's very self evident, unless they cross a high enough gamer bar
suggestions sure are welcome i guess

The Messenger
The Messenger
also made by jordan peterson fans, which is definitely worse but besides the point

A lot of the humor (which is most of the plot) consists of meta gamer jokes. Oh the players are gonna just call this the grappling hook, and so on and so forth.
The Henry Stickmin Collection
The Henry Stickmin Collection
Funny gamer references on the internet, now in a big purchaseable collection
CrossCode
CrossCode
This game is rad 99% of the time, but in that 1% I can audibly say "Is that seriously a blue shell reference" and then it is
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
While not particularly evident in the game itself, the devs calling people who like the modern Paper Marios "bootlickers" is very gamer and also very hilarious.
Enter the Gungeon
Enter the Gungeon
They called their studio Dodge Roll. Also everything being gun themed just sets off the gamer alarm bells.
Pizza Tower
Pizza Tower
I haven't played this but it exudes the energy of someone whose online personality is at least 50% composed of Wario memes
Peglin
Peglin
It's a Peggle roguelike and both of those words only matter to gamers. The cutesy artstyle feels like it's hitting on some wholesome gamer vibes but I can't really pin it down.

(I get Peggle is a casual game but if you're inspired by it in the current decade you're a gamer)
Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back
Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back
So self aware that they ripped off Sonic Twitter and let you adjust Bubsy's obnoxiousness. Bubsy is a character only gamers would think about anyways, not to mention revive in some weird ironic gambit of a generic platformer.

This studio worked on Giana Sisters too so they definitely belong here. Not sure why you'd make "reviving franchises YouTubers call dumb" your niche but fair enough I suppose.
High on Life
High on Life
Only one gamer could be so daring as to question the entire medium of gaming itself. Only one gamer could risk it all and break every taboo to answer the groundbreaking question, "What if you could kill a child in a video game".
