The lack of knockback or stagger from enemies makes this a really terrible game, shame but i heard the sequels improved a ton

Honestly boring, i reached Meridiana and i didn't feel like playing anymore, maybe i'll try again one day but it really didn't catch me at all.

The original was better. 0's combat system is not designed around this game and as a remake it makes almost everything worse, worse bosses, more padding, lack of the gritty tone and dumb fanservice that ruins characters.
This game probably hampered Y6's development too which sucks.
The only saving grace is if you view this game as an expansion pack to 0 which its basically what it is, unfortunately people actually play this instead of Yakuza 1 and consider this one canon which is pretty annoying.

The good:

-Combat is the best part of the game, it's so much fun that i literally always stopped to fight random encounters which is telling. The way the styles are all useful and they complement each others is wonderful;

-Story is really good in how it handles the contrasting beliefs of Yagami and Kuwana, they are compelling characters to listen to(muh Sawa-sensei aside);

-The sidecontent is great and varied, a lot of time to be spent here, boxing and robotics in particular were cool additions. I also felt like the side cases were better? Maybe it's just because there was way less tailing;

-The music is great as always.

The bad:

-Climbing/stealth/tailing are all so boring and they only serve to bring down some of the combat levels for me. They are an improvement over the constant tailing missions of the first game at least;

-Might be an unpopular opinion but i don't think this game has many good bosses, Kuwana and Soma are the only great ones, i don't like fighting Akutsu or Tesso very much and most of the game is filled with RK members with reused movesets disguised as bossfights. The same can be said about the long battles, only the final one was up to the standard of the older Yakuza games;

-They did my man Hoshino dirty, someone on the writing team really hated him or they wanted to make Saori look more competent idk but it feels like they shit on him the whole time. For a game that is so focused around stopping bullying, it sure didn't mind having Hoshino being bullied. Also it breaks my heart a little he and Saori never got together;

-Having two Saori sections, why? In the first game you also played as her twice but it was unexpected and kind of cool, you can't make it work every time, i just found it boring here.

Absolute 5/5, so much fun content to do(i spent 20 hours just hunting in the mountains), 5 cities to explore, virtual tourism at its best. It's one of the games i played the most, probably over 600 hours.
It's one of the few games where i really appreciate how long it is, it really feels like a trip all over Japan and it terminates in one of the most epic final fights in gaming.
The finale in general almost made me shed manly tears.

What an experience. John Marston is great.

Had fun with it, i forgot the campaign.

Both the best and worst game you'll ever play.
JK this is an hidden gem and one of my favorite games of all time.

Story wise I'll admit the start is a little boring until you get to Gran Soren. But apart from that Grigori absolutely carries the story, his monologues and his questions about life, death, destiny and will are insteresting to listen to. His design is top tier visually as well as combat wise, hard to find a better dragon fight in videogames.

Which brings me to the combat, it's really good, i can't stress this enough, there's a lot of variety between the classes and skills you can get, even the magic system is really fun to play with and it makes you do really cool spells like meteors and tornadoes.

The ending(s) absolutely blew my mind.

If a sequel comes out and manages to add all the cut content and fix the flaws from the first game it would be really cool.

The start was really good, but you soon realize how boring this game gets before you even finish the first half. The endless corridors at the end were hilarious. At least there are some cool visuals though.

Timeless masterpiece. Campaign, multiplayer and zombie were all goated.

This game was so much fun to play with a friend, both in story mode and in side modes.

I don't care if it's the usual open world, the gameplay was fun and the story was fantastic. I'm not one to care for graphics but the atmosphere and visuals here are too good not to get a mention.

4th generation made some good updates so i gotta give it props for that. The game is enjoyable and i like the pokemon.

Good game though the story disappointed me, 90% of the cast was done dirty and i was waiting the whole game for the Hayashi fight and it fucking sucked. Instead you get 1000000 fights with Nishiki of which only the final two are worth anything. At least Aizawa and Hamazaki got somewhat decent bossfights.
The Edo castle level and final boss were the best parts, those were really fun.
A big flaw is the heat actions's damage is wack and the gun gets stupidly powerful when upgraded.

I will never forgive the Hayashi disrespect.
