I am truly shocked to see the rating on this game here. While I think I understand why that might be the case, I still don't think it's quite so fair.

I had a Full-On Religious Experience with this game, and while I totally understand that might make me a little biased about how good it is, allow me to speak fairly on it's behalf.

Yes it is a "platformer," and I think this is where some people leave a lower review, because they go into it thinking it's going to be complicated with difficult puzzles to solve. It's not hard at all, and it's not meant to be hard on purpose. This is a game that is meant to be experienced, less than it's "supposed to be played." So if you went into this thinking it was another Celeste and finding yourself disappointed it wasn't, I understand where the term "platformer" might have led you astray, but please give it another chance.

Don't let this game's simplified mechanics, platforming, and character powers fool you... there is something truly beautiful for you in this 5-6 hour experience.

The themes in this game are unbelievably beautiful. The soundtrack is out of this world. The way it plays with color is tremendous. The way it can make you feel while your playing it is unparalleled.

I get that every game is not for everyone, but maybe give this one another chance some point later in life.

What a Masterpiece! And I truly say that without any Hyperbole.

I was so blown away by this game. Actually finished it a while ago but can't stop thinking about it and am actively trying to consume any piece of content I can about this game. I wholly understand this kind of game might not be for everyone, but my god it's an impressive piece of art that has a lot to Say!

The colors, sights, sounds, music, and ambiance are truly something else. The Voice Acting might come off weird at first but there is definitely a purpose for it and once you get into the groove of the game, you'll really see how the voice acting pops. The Vibe of the game is stellar, often creepy and unsettling, and even uncomfortable while sad and heartbreaking. The Story is very good, and it pulls from many points of influence but still feels very unique. I love the vibrant, yet simplified and Hyper-Stylized Character design, set in a very simplified yet high graphical world and setting.

The only two minor nit-pick points I have is sometimes the movement/traversal gets sticky in a couple of points, and the main hub map is quite the doozy to navigate. But these are so minor it's not even enough to take away a half a star.

A pleasant surprise to finally play a Pokemon Game who dared to break away from the [tired] old formula. This game is far better than the reviews insinuate, yes it has its faults, but IMO, it's a true gem amongst the series. Very excited to see what they do next with this kind of Pokemon Game!
